A George III mahogany longcase clock with a 33cm brass and silvered dial signed with a plaque J.Kaye, Liverpool with subsidiary seconds ring against a leaf and lattice ground, outer date calendar, Roman and Arabic numerals, cast leafy spandrels, the arch painted with a dwelling in landscape, the case with a swan neck and leafy cresting, minor reductions, fluted columns above a blind fret work carved frieze, shaped long door in well figured wood, fluted quarter columns raised upon a panelled plinth base and ogee bracket feet, 226cms high with pendulum, two weights and a winding key, (illustrated) CONDITION REPORT: The centre above the swan neck and flower cresting has been cut, glazed door original, glazing to door original, chaptering bright, centre and spandrels good bright condition, some dentil moulding missing beneath the hood, right hand side approx. 14cms, small piece to the left approx 2cm, small piece on the angle on the left hand side 5cms, right hand side going back to the wall three small pieces, blind fret carving on the front frieze good, blind fret frieze left hand side section missing at the back approx. 8cms, some blind fret cover missing on the right hand side approx. 7 cms, good well figured door, well figured plinth, bracket foot on the right front missing, original back board, original seat board, just below the seat board there is a rectangular section cut away possibly infilled with later piece of wood.
