(211cm.) high. * G. H. Baillie, in 'Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World' records a Milson in Newbury, c.1808.

A French bronzed and gilt brass Empire style mantel clock with twist fountain by Laine of Paris, the eight day movement with silk suspension striking the hours and half hours on a bell via an outside countwheel, the back plate stamped 'LAINE A PARIS 7 7 M.J 6', the silvered sunburst dial similarly signed, with Roman numerals and beaded bezel, the the architectural case with gilt bronze Marley horse surmount over a flared foliate pediment on column supports, the front with spiralled glass 'water fountain' rod issuing from a dolphin mask, above a rectangular bronze patinated base with gilt anthemion and foliate lappet border and baroque apron with integral bracket feet, 19½in. (49.5cm.) high, with pendulum.

An extremely rare Anglo-Indian ivory and penwork apothecary's chest, Vizagapatam, c.1780, the ivory veneered on a sandalwood base, decorated with engraved views of buildings in landscapes within borders of trailing flowers and foliage, silver metal carrying handles to the sides, the divided interior fitted with eight glass medicine bottles and silver metal lock and hinges, on shaped bracket feet, 10 x 6¼in. (25.5 x 15.8cm.), 7½in. (19cm.) high.

A fine George IV octagonal silver mounted pressed tortoiseshell tea caddy, the silver fittings hallmarked E. E. J. & W. Barnard, London 1829, the pagoda top with silver leaf and gouard finial, each side panel with pressed decoration of Gothic arched windows below a quatrefoil decorated frieze, on silver foliate bracket feet, the interior with ivory veneered borders and single lidded compartment, 6in. (15.2cm.) diameter, 7in. (17.75cm.) high.* Condition: There is a split across the tortoise shell panel at the rear approx. 1/4in. above and below the hinge extending the width of the 2in. panel. Also two tiny sections either side of the hinge approx 1/8in. wide x 1/32in. deep. There is a very slightly raised "blister" on one of the triangular sections of the lid near the edge and a small worn patch to one corner of the lid. Small chipped piece top right of the front side panel which has been re-affixed with glue – a tiny piece is missing from one corner of this piece. Two small cracks to ivory around lock. Two small triangular chips of tortoiseshell have been broken from the edge of the Inner lid 1/2in. at the widest; the other 1/4in. at the widest. Silver in good condition with matching marks.

A 19th century mahogany linen press, having two panelled doors opening to reveal six slide out trays, fitted with two short and two long drawers to the base, raised on outswept legs and bracket feet, max width 51insCondition Report: Various marks, scuffs and damage, particularly to the sides.  Handles possibly replaced.  Not a bad colour overall.  Max depth 26ins.  Interior depth 21.75ins.  Upper section height 41.5ins. Doors are not warped and close together but the right hand door will swing open so would need a key (which we do not have)  feet are original.  Max height 74.5ins.

Two-day, chain driven fusee movement with Harrison maintaining power, spring detent escapement and blued helical hairspring. 19 x 18 x 18 cm.
