George III Channel Islands mahogany chest on chest, the upper section having a dentil cornice and fitted three short and three long chestnut lined drawers flanked by fluted canted corners, the base fitted four long graduated chestnut lined drawers, all having cast brass ribbon and swag handles, standing on ogee bracket feet. This piece is believed to have been purchased in Jersey during the 1920s by Colonel Robert Malet, the original key bears an ivorine label stating `Estate P.E. Le Huquet`
A George III oak tallboy top only, with blind Greek key cornice above two short and four long graduated drawers with brass swans neck drop handles lock escutcheons and cockbeading to each drawer front, flanked by fluted quarter column corners with moulding below and raised on bracket feet. Width 44 ins.
A George III mahogany longcase clock by Muncaster of Whitehaven, circa 1805, having a swans neck pediment with gilt daffodil terminals and verre eglomise panels above the arched painted dial with shepherdess scene to the arch, with Arabic numerals to the dial, with rose spandrels and with subsidiary date dial, with false winding apertures and thirty hour movement in turn above the shaped trunk door, being crossbanded, boxwood strung and cockbeaded, flanked by fluted quarter column corners and with conforming base, with canted angles raised on bracket feet. Height 88 ins. NOTE - the clock case may be attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, see plate 506 page 409 of Susan E. Stuart`s book Gillows of Lancaster & London 1730-1840 for a similar clock case (see illustration).
A George III oak and mahogany banded bureau bookcase, the top half with a moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors enclosing shelves, the base with slope front being crossbanded and opening to a fitted interior and with two short and three long graduated beneath with brass swans neck handles with shaped backplates, crossbanding and cockbeading, the whole raised on short bracket feet. Width 46 ins.
A George III oak dresser, with later Delft rack, having a moulded cornice above a series of open shelves and cupboards with fluted front columns above the base, fitted with a series of mahogany crossbanded drawers with brass swans neck drop handles, flanked by cluster columns and raised on bracket feet.
