A 19th century Black Forest cuckoo clock, of typical form, with applied numerals to the circular dial, two-train movement and with accompanying bracket. Height of clock 20.5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally good order but it is extremely dirty. There are some minor losses to the ends of the oak leaves etc but nothing of great significance as far as we can tell. The bracket is in generally good condition but it does have a split in the rear support of the right hand side. This would easily repair. We do have the pendulum and key. The movement although dirty is ticking away and the bellows that operate the cuckoo sound are working. The clock does strike and cuckoo as it should. The damage to the oak leaves that we refer to is minimal. The top oak leaf has a very small nibble to the top two points, the right hand centre oak leaf has a slightly larger nibble to the top point. The left hand oak leaf has a small nibble to the top edge. The oak leaves around the face appear to be in good order. The bottom right hand oak leaf has a loss to the bottom left hand leaf, the centre spray is fine as is the left. The nibbles are all very old the same colour as the rest of the timber and in our opinion not significant.
A 19th century cased brass strung mantle or bracket clock, with French two-train movement striking on a gong, the case marked "Halford & Sons, London". Height 15 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The case and dial are in first class condition. We have the key and pendulum and the clock is currently ticking away as it should.
A 19th century oak cased bracket clock, by Payne & Co., New Bond Street, London, with fusee movement and silvered dial. Height 13 ins, width 9 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This lot is really in extremely good condition. It is currently ticking away. There are no losses to the foliate moulding to the front door. The silvering to the dial is a little discoloured but probably original. The left and right sides of the case are in good order. There is a crack running through the veneer on the deep reveal from front to back on the top of the clock and there is a small section of veneer missing at the back of the clock beneath the door. We do not have any keys with the clock and whilst the rear door is open the front door is currently locked.
An Edwardian mahogany mantle clock, with brass finials and inlaid case raised on bracket feet, the face with Arabic numerals and with single-train movement. Width 5.5 ins. CONDITION REPORT: This clock is ticking away as it should. The dial is in good order. The case has one or two minor scuffs and blemishes but nothing of any great significance. All the finials are present and we have the winding key.

Height 90 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: In our opinion the dial the movement, pendulum and weights are original to the case. The seatboard is original and does not appear to have been altered. The cheeks have not been altered either. The case does not appear to have any woodworm and is in generally good condition. The clock has come to us from a local property and is currently ticking away. The movement is missing its bell.

CONDITION REPORT: This piece is in generally very good order. It has come to us from a good local property. It could be used in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration. It does not appear to have any woodworm. The height excluding the back is 37.75 ins. The height including the back is 50.5 ins. The depth is 21.25 ins and the width 16.75 ins.

Width 35 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chest of drawers is in extremely good order. It could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration. The drawer fronts are all in good order. The bottom drawer has evidence of three old veneer cracks and possible replacement of sections of cockbeading and two small veneer repairs. These have been done perfectly well and do not detract from the appearance of the piece. Other than minor scuffs and scratches the item is really in extremely good order.

Width 35 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chest is in generally extremely good condition, very sturdy and other than very minor scratches and scuffs it is in first class condition. The top is flat and unwarped and all the drawer fronts are in good order with the exception of minor veneer cracking to the bottom left hand corner of the bottom drawer. This is not lifting simply visible. The sides of the piece are not cracked and the bracket feet and panelled back are in good condition. The piece could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration.
A fine 19th century Continental walnut cupboard, with winged cherub and shield pediment flanked on either side by a cherub and mythical sea creature in turn above a pair of intricately carved panelled doors enclosing shelves and flanked by canted angles with figural corbals, the base fitted with a drawer and raised on bracket feet. Height 103 ins, width 67.5 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This cupboard is in generally very good condition. The pediment is intact and has no significant damage. The same applies to the cornice and the carved male figures to left and right. The side panels are also in good condition. We cannot see any losses to the carved panelled doors. The drawer operates as it should. The front feet are solid and strong, the rear small legs are slightly loose. The rear of the piece is made from sliding panels. The majority of this panelling is present but we have not fully fitted this. There is evidence of old long gone woodworm particularly around the tops of the doors and in parts of the cornice. The woodworm has never been severe but old holes are visible if one looks carefully.

A George III longcase clock, mahogany, with eight day striking movement by Lott Barwise, Cockermouth, with swans neck pediment, arched glazed door, 13 inch dial, long trunk door, quarter column corners and raised on bracket feet. Height 90 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The case is in generally very good condition with no significant problems. The hood has only very minor old veneer cracks as one would expect. The trunk door is not warped and again there is a veneer crack at the bottom centre of this which is insignificant. The feet are original and in good order. The dial is in generally good untouched original unrestored condition although it looks as if the name and town have been over written at some point. We have the pendulum and weights but have not had the clock operating as there is no catgut on the drive train. The seatboard is clearly original however the cheeks of the clock have old inner supports. We do not think that these have been added but it is possible. The mask around the dial does fit very well.

A George III mahogany chest of drawers, with moulded edge above a slide and four graduated drawers with original brass drop handles, cast backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front and raised on bracket feet. Width 34.5 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This chest of drawers is in generally in extremely good condition. There are no repairs to the veneers that we can see. The drawer fronts are all in good order and with original handles. There is a very small veneer scuff on the top right hand corner of the bottom drawer approximately 3 mm in length and slight water staining in this area. The sides of the chest are not split. The feet appear to be original and in generally good order. Both rear feet appear to have had breaks approximately 2 ins up from floor level on the right hand side and 3 ins on the left hand side. In both cases the original piece of wood has been reattached to the outside edge of the block and the repairs are generally very good. The top of the piece does have ring marks and ink type staining in areas but is generally very good in colour.

The feet are original and in very good condition. The backboards are original and clean also.
