Reproduction mahogany chest of two short and three long drawers, with brass drop handles, pierced backplates on bracket feet, 76cm wide and nest of antique carved Indian hardwood trio occasional tables, each rectangular with carved border of floral and foliate scrolling, quadrant mould edge on baluster turned supports and cross stretchers
An 18th century mahogany and marquetry inlaid longcase clock, the hood with swan-neck pediment and inlaid frieze, three turned finials surmounting, the square dial with brass embossed spandrels and having silver chapter ring inscribed "R Lawson, Wigan" with subsidiary seconds and calendar dials, eight-day striking movement, the case inset with quadrant fluted balusters, on ogee bracket feet, 234cm height approx.
German or Swiss rosewood cased bracket cuckoo clock, 19th century, with painted leaf scroll decoration, white enamel Roman dial, oak plated twin fusee movement sounding the hour through an articulated bird or striking on a coil (pendulum and a winding key), height 46cm. *See clocks and watches proviso. Condition report: dial has many hairlines and some chips chips to the edge; ticks winds and hoots/strikes at the time of cataloguing but sometimes the cuckoo`s door fails to open and so the strike/hoot falls behind the time. Case in good condition.
Arts and Crafts copper hanging wall sconce circa 1900, the back with a convex reflector and shaped edge and candle bracket, height 26cm. Condition report: the shelf is made of two soldered thicknesses of copper which have been later reinforced with glue; some minor edge dents and general wear.
A mahogany veneered bow front chest with two short and two long graduated drawers on splayed bracket feet. Condition Report: Back panel good, feet good. Side panel good, few small scratches, top panel scratched/scored quite badly. Handles OK, front good. Drawers run well, beading, veneer good, small crack to main support between the two small drawers. Height 32.5cm, width 42cm, depth 21.75cm.
A 19th century mahogany longcase clock, William Greaves, Newcastle, the 11" brass dial with subsidiary dial, date aperture, scroll-cast spandrels and signed in the arch, eight day movement, the hood with dentilled cornice above a glazed arched door flanked by columns, the case with fluted quarter columns, on a plinth base and bracket feet (pendulum, no weights). 2.26m
An early George II burr oak and walnut bureau, cross and feather banded, the interior with pigeon holes drawers and a central arched cupboard, flanked by secret pilaster compartments above a well with a sliding cover above two short and two long drawers fitted with later brass work on bracket feet, 96cm high, 86.4cm wide, 49.5cm deep.
A George II walnut chest on chest, with pine sides, cross and feather banded with three short and six long graduated drawers, fitted with replaced brass handles, on later bracket feet, 169.2cm high, 103.5cm wide, 51.5cm deep. Provenance: The Property of Mrs Denzil Ffennell, formerly of Martyr Worthy Place, Martyr Worthy, Nr. Winchester, Hampshire.
A George III mahogany secretaire chest on chest, the dentil cornice above two short and three long graduated drawers flanked by fluted canted angles, the base with a secretaire drawer fitted with pigeon holes, drawers and a central cupboard flanked by secret pilaster compartments above two further long drawers, on bracket feet, 191.8cm high, 110cm wide, 54.7cm deep.
A late 18th century mahogany linen press, with a dentil and pendant cornice above an inlaid fluted frieze, a pair of panelled doors with barber`s pole mouldings and parquetry star spandrels enclosing a vacant interior above two short and two long drawers, on ogee bracket feet, 191.8cm high, 134cm wide, 64.7cm deep.
A late George III mahogany serpentine chest, inlaid stringing with four long ash lined graduated drawers, the top one divided, with bone escutcheons and later brass plate handles, on bracket feet, possibly Scottish, 99.8cm high, 112cm wide, 61.7cm deep. Provenance: Sold on behalf of the Executors of Colin Popham deceased.
A George III mahogany serpentine commode, the crossbanded and inlaid top with a central oval panel above three long graduated drawers, the top drawer originally fitted, with gilt brass handles on bracket feet, 89.2cm high, 95.3cm wide, 60.5cm deep. Provenance: Sold on behalf of the Executors of Colin Popham deceased.
