French School, mid 19th century- Still life of flowers; oils on canvas, a pair, in matching glazed gilt composition frames, ea. 55.5x46.5cm, (2) CONDITION REPORT: Unexamined out of frames. In gilt glazed matching composition frames, with some losses to edges. Crazing on the oil paint in places, on both paintings. Canvas dry and taught. Otherwise in general good condition.
Follower of Sir William Nicholson, British 1872-1949, early 20th century- Still life with a silver coffeepot, fruit and a glass; oil on canvas laid down on board, dated Nov 21st 1911, 48x51.3cm CONDITION REPORT: in a silver gilt moulding frame circa late 20th century there is a horizontal crease line likely to be due to a defect in the weave of the canvas from left to right centre of the surface there are further superficial vertical scratches and scrapes to the paint surface in the lower half of the painting paint surface is subject to to staining, drips and scuff marks under inspection with uv lamp there is no evidence of retouching or over painting otherwise in fair condition, will require some restoration
