*Margaret Olley (Australian 1923-2011), STILL LIFE OF BOWLS OF FRUIT, A BOTTLE OF WINE AND A GLASS, A COASTAL VIEW BEYOND Oil on board 50 x 75cm. Margaret Hannah Olley was an Australian painter, born in Lismore, New South Wales. She was primarily a still life artist and the subject of more than ninety solo exhibitions. She received the inaugural Mosman Art Prize in 1947. In 1997, a major retrospective of her work was organised by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. In 2006 she donated more works to the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Her donations comprised more than one-hundred-and-thirty works valued at $7 million. Olley died at her home in Paddington in July 2011, aged 88. Part of her Paddington house, well known for items that she collected and used as subject matter for her art, is to be recreated at the Tweed River Art Gallery, in an area not far from where the artist was born. The architect of the Tweed’s new Margaret Olley Centre, Bud Brannigan, said that it would be faithful to Olley’s house. There is a comprehensive photographic record of her studio and work, shot on the morning she died, by artist photographer Greg Weight.
*Donald Bain (Scottish 1907-1979), STILL LIFE OF ROSES IN A YELLOW VASE AND A RED APPLE Signed l.r., oil on board 40 x 32cm. In 1920, Bain was introduced to the work of the Scottish Colourists, S.J. Peploe and J.D. Fergusson, by ‘Glasgow Boy’ painter, William York MacGregor. Whilst working in Glasgow shipyards in the early 1940s, he became associated with the New Scottish Group, before moving to France. He exhibited in salons in Paris and was influenced by the rich paint texture and palette of Cézanne.

Keller (CT, 1901-1992), signed lr, titled on stretcher, a still life of objects on tabletop occupying the top third of the image, the lower in draped fabric, in wood slat shadowline frame, SS: 60 1/4" x 47 3/4", OS: 61 3/4" x 49 1/2", fine condition.
A fine pair of Royal Worcester cabinet plates by Richard Sebright, each with tooled gilt borders framing still life fruit paintings, one depicting apples, blossom and blackberries and the other peaches, grapes and raspberries, signed gilt back stamp and retailers mark for Mappin & Webb, 10.5" diameter.
