Duncan Grant (British, 1885-1978), Still life with Compotier, oil on canvas, signed "D. Grant" and dated lower right, 44.5cm x 58.5cm, framed.Provenance:Consigned from a deceased estate, Mrs J B – a lady who lived about eight miles from Honiton; with her husband, they were a keen collectors of art.She became friends with the owner of the Lewes Gallery who sold Duncan Grant’s work, and subsequently, the owner of the gallery took Mrs J B to meet Duncan Grant.About a year after Duncan Grant’s death, his daughter, Angelica Garnett held an open day at Charleston; Mrs J B went to that open day and, from this early stage, became a ‘Friend’ of Charleston House.The picture has remained in Mrs J B’s home since its purchase. The sale has been arranged by the daughter and son of Mrs J B, following a probate valuation that Chilcotts carried out in July 2022.Purchased by the deceased, 1977, John Gage Gallery.
Prudence Turner, British (1930-2007), Loch Leven and Loch Achray, a pair, oil on canvas, both signed LR: Prudence Turner, 49cm x 70cm (2)Prudence Turner was born in India, and travelled widely in Egypt and overseas. She painted a wide variety of subjects including fantasy, portraits and still life but her favourite subject was Scotland and her views of Highland Lochs and Glens are a regular entry in the saleroom.

After Derrick Greaves (1927-2022) - still life of flowers upon a canvas, attached to the artist's easel, all within a red circle, signed artist's proof also dated 84 (1984), numbered 128/175, coloured reproduction possibly a lithographic or silkscreen print, 23" x 26" ** With The Eight Bells Gallery, Church St. Tetbury, Glos, GL8 8JG **The artist was influenced by the Japanese print makers particularly the work of Hokusai and Hiroshige, also taking inspiration from the work of George Braque, he regularly exhibited in London and other locations in the UK particularly at Beaux Arts in Mayfair, exhibiting with the artist John Bratby, Edward Middleditch and Jack Smith. In 1957 Greaves and Bratby were among six young painters to show in Moscow, Russia.
