1965 Fiat Autobianchi BianchinaRegistration no. JGU 39OCChassis no. 110B082800Odometer reading: TBAMOT Expiry: Exempt*Very original example*Formally exhibited in the Fiat Museum*Rebuilt engineBased on the original Fiat 500, the Autobianchi Bianchina debuted in 1957 as a small yet sophisticated car that was offered in saloon, cabriolet, estate and van configurations. This 1965 example, presented in an excellent condition, was exhibited in the Fiat 500 museum in Garlenda on the Italian Riviera before its life in the UK. Since its arrival and previous ownership, the car has been kept very well and has been serviced regularly by its enthusiast owner, who purchased the car at the Bonhams 2016 Goodwood members meeting. Prior to the vendors ownership, the vehicle was kept as part of a private collection and used sparingly and solely for the summer. This is a very original example that is thought to be one of the cleanest and unmolested Bianchina's left on the road. The previous owner undertook an engine rebuild of its original 499cc engine, which required work due to brittle gaskets. During the rebuild the engine was bored out from 67.4mm to 70mm to give it a little extra power. The bodywork, bumpers and all the external and internal features are believed to be original. Even the windscreen stickers and supplying dealer sticker (Commissionaria Autobianchi, Ginno Nanni, Pistoria, Italia) are still in place. The car also comes with its original owner's manual, Italian service book and registration documents, spare key, copy correspondence, V5C, and photographs of its time in the museum. 1983 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:45644The Mercedes-Benz SL (Sport Leicht) has been in production since 1954 with perhaps the most influential model being the W113 Pagoda of 1963. This second generation evolved from the 230 SL to 250 SL, finally becoming the 280 SL. The W113 was replaced by the W107 in 1971 and as the engines became larger, the bodywork and weight of the cars also increased, as so often happens in mid-life! The SL improved through the years with technical innovation but still managed to keep its fundamental character and identity of an up-market, high quality sports car. Its reputation went from strength to strength and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980's without an SL making a star appearance. The impressive soft-top mechanism which folds down out of sight under a panel ahead of the boot lid gave the car a beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. Of all the engine offerings the 280 remains sought after with the smaller 2.8 litre engine offering plenty of power but with the advantage of less weight and thus improved handling.Offered in splendid red coachwork with near new chequered cloth trim, this stunning example of the R107 includes the desirable rear bench seat. This cherished example shows 14 main dealer stamps in the original service booklet; it has since had a documented history detailed by the current owner in the history file including a comprehensive service in November 2019 preceded by an independent valuation of £30,000 by UK Sportscars and a further inspection to confirm the bulkhead is in excellent condition. Originally supplied by Waterhouse Mercedes-Benz Ltd of Chelmsford to a Mr Wood in March 1983, this well specified and low mileage example is amongst the best we have seen. Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until October 2021, with no advisories, viewing is highly recommended to appreciate this fine Mercedes roadster.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 159

1972 Alfa Romeo 1.3 GT Junior Transmission: manualMileage:20159Mention Alfa Romeos from the 1960s and 1970s and what usually springs to mind is the marque’s 105 Series Coupé, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Bertone, considered to be one of his greatest designs. Not only as one of the best looking and handling classic saloon cars of the period, but the advanced specification, with its five-speed gearbox, all-round disc brakes, independent suspension, and powerful twin-cam engine, still has the capability to embarrass many of its modern counterparts. This lovely little GT Junior with the 1.3 engine is presented in lovely red coachwork with black trim and looks every bit the iconic Alfa. Having resided, we are told, in a collection in Milan for much of its life, this example was imported by an enthusiast owner in 2016. An Alfa Romeo Club Member, he kept this car in its restored state and enjoyed it; however, due to his advancing years (well into his 90’s when he finally gave the car up) he subsequently sold it to our vendor who has the car as part of his modest collection. We are informed that this well cared for example drives as good as it looks, offered with a recent service this is a bit of a favourite amongst the Historics team - viewing is certainly recommended.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 178

1958 Daimler Conquest Transmission: manualMileage:74549 The Conquest saloon was released to the public in 1953 as a replacement for the Daimler Consort but was shorter and lighter with better performance. The Daimler Conquest was meant to be an affordable Daimler, priced at £1066. It was a pedigree with pace, at a reasonable price and still had luxurious, well-appointed traditional woodgrain and leather interiors. Actual construction was by another BSA subsidiary, 'Carbodies'. The open two-seater Conquest Roadster first appeared at the Motor Show in 1953 with the tuned engine later known as the Century engine. This Daimler Conquest shows only three owners during its 73-year life. Its chassis and running gear were developments of those underpinning the Lanchester 14 and power comes from a 2433cc straight six engine. Drive is through a Wilson pre-selector gearbox. Presenting in blue coachwork with a blue leather interior, this pleasant example is offered to auction without reserve. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 185

1966 Ford Mustang V8 Convertible Transmission: automatic Mileage:47000 The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on 9th March, 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April, 1964. It was, and remains one, of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today after 43 years. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. By 1969, the muscle car race was on and Ford offered a 351, 428 Cobra Jet and other performance engines available in most models and often ordered with the Fastback and Mach One cars. The '69 Boss 302 and Shelby (available since 1965), were specialty Mustangs offered with both high-performance engines and race-breed suspensions. Ford added a Fastback to its 1965 Mustang line-up but the convertible holds a special place in American culture and was heavily publicised as 'a car to escape the mundane nature of life.'This very well-presented example was built in the Dearbon, Michigan factory as the automatic, V8, convertible example as you see today. Offered in the desirable colour combination of Silver Blue metallic over a Pony Blue and white leather interior, this Mustang has been the subject of a restoration over the past two years. During the restoration the car was treated to various works including a bare metal respray, new interior, a replacement 302 V8 engine mated to a Edelbrock carburettor, new front suspension, a brake overhaul and a new convertible hood. The cost of the work exceeding £20,000. Also fitted is a Kicker Bluetooth system with a USB charging port for modern technology. The vendor reports that this Mustang attracts huge amounts of attention wherever it goes although suggests that the rear interior panels and dashboard would benefit from refurbishment to match the restoration. Offered with many original parts and panels, the paintwork is in excellent condition and the interior and engine bay are both presented very well indeed. This well-presented example sits on four new Hankook white wall tyres and comes complete with a sizeable history file including many invoices and photographs of the restoration, the UK registration document, and an MoT test certificate valid until July 2022. Interested parties should note that this vehicle is now offered without reserve.

Lot 220

1994 Jaguar XJS Convertible 4.0 litre Transmission: automaticMileage:65262The Jaguar XJS Convertible, which first appeared in 1988, was considerably more than just a coupé with the roof removed. The earlier 'T'-top cabriolet paved the way as the first open Jaguar since the demise of the E-Type in 1975 but this was to be the first full convertible and a strengthened sub-frame was employed in order to alleviate scuttle shake. Retaining the roomy cockpit space of the coupé, the new convertible naturally boasted all the expected Jaguar refinements as standard making for a very fine, open grand touring car. The XJS was continuously developed during its 20 year production life. Today, this model is very much establishing itself as a most worthy latter day classic with good examples being eagerly sought by connoisseurs of the marque. This superb example of this luxurious sports convertible is presented in Regency Red with cream leather interior, which has recently been re-upholstered to a very high standard. The car comes with a black electrically operated hood and both the interior and exterior are in absolutely superb condition. Powered by the smooth six-cylinder 4.0 litre engine mated to an automatic gearbox, this British sports car still looks as fabulous as it did the day it was manufactured.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 232

1966 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Transmission: manualMileage:68572The Aston Martin DB6 was launched at the London Motor Show in 1965, following on from the highly successful DB5, immortalised by the 1964 James Bond film 'Goldfinger'. The front of the DB6 was visually similar to the DB5 but closer inspection revealed quite a different car. The wheelbase was lengthened allowing additional passenger space in the rear along with a raised roof line. The profile of the rear quarter lights echoed those of the DB4 GT Zagato, a styling theme that continued through to the DBS and V8 models until production finished in 1990. Both front and rear bumpers were split into two pieces and the rear of the car was restyled with a Kamm tail which helped reduce aerodynamic drag and gave the car more stability at speed. The engine remained the same as the DB5 unit, a 3995cc twin overhead cam straight six, the Vantage version offering a claimed 325bhp.This fabulous example was registered new on 25th January 1966. Finished in Pacific blue over a black leather interior, this original manual, matching numbers, DB6 Vantage has been treated to various restoration work throughout its life. The engine has previously been treated to a comprehensive rebuild and circa 20 years ago the coachwork received extensive time and attention culminating in a bare metal respray, still retaining a deep shine and in good order. The seats have more recently been renewed, the leather is supremely soft and comfortable and the headlining, dashboard and door cards all present well. This DB6 is offered in good order throughout, the shut lines are good and the paintwork is bright. A nice usable example which can be enjoyed as is or lightly improved to bring it to its best.Having had just three previous owners from new the current vendor acquired chassis 2486/R in 1979 and has dry stored and used the Vantage occasionally throughout his tenure. In more recent times various maintenance work has been carried out including an extensive brake system overhaul where a new servo was fitted. Equipped with the desirable electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust system, this Aston produces a glorious exhaust note when on song and turns heads wherever it goes. Offered with a sizeable history file including sundry invoices, many old MoT test certificates, DB6 owner’s manual with relevant books, and the UK V5 Registration document.A genuine factory built matching numbers Vantage is a very sought-after specification indeed and this example, offered at a very attractive price should certainly not be overlooked. Interested parties should note that this Vantage is believed to have spent some time in Switzerland and due to the high altitude SU Carburettors were fitted for a smoother driving experience.
