A Japanese Shibayama ivory tusk vase Meiji period (1868-1912), the slender section of tusk inlaid with a still life scene of a two handled vase standing before a branch of prunus, two roses and other flowers in carved mother-of-pearl, stained ivory and semi-precious stones, the reverse with daisies and butterflies, with a hardwood, lobed base raised on a well carved and pierced stand, applied signature plaque to side, the tusk 7½in. (19m.) high, 15in. (38cm.) high overall.
Continental School (19th Century) Still life of roses and other flowers in a basket on a ledge Oil on canvas mounted onto board 28 x 63cm (11 x 25in) Oil on canvas mouned onto board. A few small, old losses but paint layer in good condition. Old, yellowed varnish. Frame has been repainted with bronzed paint.
