Pamela Davis, watercolour, still life of summer flowers, signed, 14ins x 18ins, gilt framed

Lot 5

Token ID 371I fell in love with the wild, beautiful, uncanny and profound results that came with the first round of Eponym. With Stories, I began to explore what result would come telling Ai that this was ""for a museum"". One of the first results was 'for the museum of modern art' which looked like an abstract landscape hanging on a white wall but it also had a 3d element that was breaking the fourth wall of perspective. It felt like the perfect piece to represent modern Ai driven art with the intent of being FOR a museum. It even came with what looks like an information placard about the art hanging on the wall in lower right corner of the frame. For subsequent stories, I picked museums I've been to that inspire me and tried many permutations for the art. The ones that stood out were ones that looked like they might belong in the museum referenced but also said something to the museum about its history, its present and its future. To me, each piece honors the museum's style but also says something about the art within its walls that can be interpreted in myriad ways. 'for the louvre' has a similar feeling of breaking the fourth wall. The frame and walls evoke an Egyptian artifact that was taken by Napoleon himself and brought to Paris. It was too rich in artificial mystique to pass up.'for the guggenheim' looks like a pen and ink masterpiece Peggy herself would hang on the walls of her spiral halls. The touches of blue in the black and white figures is striking. In 'for the smithsonian' I was looking for something American that also evoked the 'shining city on the hill'. The result that came looks like a sketch that George Washington or one of his officers may have sketched in their journal during the American Revolution. With 'for the van gogh museum' I had originally set out to show how the Ai could recreate or construct a new Van Gogh painting. There were many impressive options but then the result you see here popped up. While not in the style of Van Gogh, it seems to reference the artist himself, it looks like a portion of one of his self-portraits but it also seems to be saying something. Perhaps that Van Gogh is still with us, his haunting blue eye, watching the progress of art and humanity and culture. The cryptic signature on the bottom right. The DaVinci like canvas it's painted on. I don't know. I just couldn't pass up minting it.I mean, come on, 'for the picasso museum in barcelona' looks like late-era Picasso painting, celebrating the spirit of Spanish life as well as the freedom of how children are free with their art. To me, what's minted looks like what Picasso might have painted today and perhaps minted to the chain. 'for the dali museum in paris' to me, looks like two elongated figures embracing, intertwined; surreal and Jungian, the integration of the psyche, of the self, the id and ego, the light and shadow, together as one.'for the national gallery' made me laugh. I kept trying to create a new JMW Turner painting, something quintessentially British, and there were some good options, but then this popped up and it just looked like someone hung the painting up backwards and we were looking at the back of the frame. It also had great shading for the back of the painting. As for the title, this belongs in a museum, it's a reference to Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, when he rescues the Cross of Coronado...Enjoy.For more information about the artist and their story please visit:https://epostories.auction/epostory/371/this-belongs-in-a-museum

We are auctioning a signed working manuscript of a Kettle of Fish By Nigel Tranter (With Original Thoughts and Ideas from the author) Nigel Tranter was probably the most prolific Scottish author after Sir Walter Scott. Tranter published over 100 historical novels and many non-fiction books such as The Queen’s Scotland series. Born in Glasgow, he spent much of his life in Aberlady, which he loved.A Kettle of Fish is a fictional story based on the 1857, Tweed Fisheries Act that made it illegal to fish for Salmon in 50 square miles of open sea off the mouth of the River Tweed. A local schoolmaster, Adam Horsburgh, believed the Act should be challenged openly and when he proceeds to act, a full-scale fish war breaks out. This book stands the test of time, it is still on sale 50 years after its first publication and its message echoes in today's politics.

1993 Range Rover Classic Vogue 4.0 SE AutoMake: Range Rover Model: Classic Vogue SE AutoYear: 1993Mileage: 186439VIN: SALLHAMM3KA638374Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: L35DNPTransmission: AutomaticThe original Range Rover had a very long production life, lasting from 1969 to 1996. This example is one of the later vehicles, registered in November 1993, and in high-spec Vogue SE spec with the 3947cc variant of Rover's ubiquitous V8 engine. The odometer reading is 186,439, which is warranted for the last 15 years by the online MoT check. This also shows that, since 2005, the Range Rover has only travelled less than 10,000 miles. The total since 2008 is just over 3000 miles. The current MoT expires on September 2022. Five former keepers are recorded. The V5 is present and other paperwork includes the current MoT certificate, plus ones from 2020 and 2019. The selection of invoices date from 2009 to 2019 and includes body work, a reconditioned automatic gearbox in 2012 (£932), a respray in 2014 (£1700), replacement of all shock absorbers in 2017 (£296) and fuel and ignition system work in 2019. This most recent bill, which also included MoT and, electrical work, plus a new battery, came to £6585.10. An LPG conversion is fitted. There are print-outs of further works done from 2019 to 2021. The vendor notes other major work carried out as: automatic gearbox reconditioned, rear exhaust replaced, inner front wing panels replaced, front swivel joints replaced, new driver and passenger side window winder mechanisms fitted, engine stopper valve and inlet and outlet breathing pipes replaced, repairs to the rear inner wheel arches on both sides, new brake pads fitted, rewired front seats with separate switches, new rotor arm and rebuilt distributor. Jobs still needing to be done are the replacement of the alarm control, and the fitment of a new windscreen wiper switch and rear windscreen wiper. The vendor also advises that a full service should be carried out; although the vehicle has only done 500 miles since its last one, it was done some years ago.

The Flame Red three-door hatchback has been very well looked during its 22-year life and is in excellent condition, even having its Bristol Street Motors sill stickers still in place in the driver and passenger side door shuts. There is very little wear apparent inside the car. The paperwork file includes the V5C and the original book wallet, containing the owner's handbook, service location guide, audio instructions (including radio code) and tuning guide. There is no service book however. The paperwork folder includes MoT certificates from 2018, 2020 and 2021 plus some invoices including one for a battery fitted in 2018.
