A total of 2,876 Routemasters were built, of which 1,280 are thought to be still in existence.Originally registered on 14th September 1967, SMK 666F was in service with London Transport for several years and must have seen some sights during its working life. This particular Routemaster was purchased in January 2018 and in December 2018 a full restoration project was started by a company called D Class involving a complete strip and rebuild of the entire interior of the bus to the owner's personal touch. The lower deck features a softball area with the floor and surrounding areas in soft rubber padding and a TV installed. The upper deck is designed for the adults and features a bar, a fridge, an ice maker, and lounge area for people to sit, drink, and socialise. Reported to drive well, these iconic buses will always be a part of London history and are easily maintained through a well-established and enthusiastic Owner's Club.
1981 Land Rover Series III 109 Transmission: manualMileage:301Land Rovers were inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep immediately after the war. By 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had ever built were still in use. Before the war, Rover had produced luxury cars which then ceased to be in demand in the post-war period. Raw materials were also strictly rationed to companies building construction or industrial equipment. Rover's original factory in Coventry had also been bombed, forcing the company to move into a huge factory it had built in Solihull to construct aircraft. The Series III is the most common vehicle with 440,000 built. The headlights were moved to the wings and the traditional metal grille featured on its predecessor, was replaced with a plastic one. The production run for the Series III was from 1971 through to 1985, and during this cycle in 1976, the 1,000,000th Land Rover rolled off the production line. The Series III saw many changes in the later part of its life as Land Rover updated the design to meet increased competition.This Land Rover was originally registered on 25th February 1981 and has been totally and beautifully restored by the knowledgeable and fastidious vendor. The body was removed from the chassis and a new galvanised chassis fitted. The bodywork itself was repaired where necessary and repainted in the traditional colour combination of Sherwood Green with black. The engine was stripped down and rebuilt as was the gearbox. Wolf wheels have been fitted and the interior trim taken care of accordingly. This 109 inch Land Rover has four inward facing seats to the rear and a suitable 'rag-top' for inclement weather. Series III Land Rovers are exceptionally robust and offer the ultimate 4x4 off road experience. Supplied with a V5C registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 11th June 2024 and a collection of invoices in the history folder. This model was only in production for three years and to find one in such fabulous condition is a rare treat indeed.
2004 Porsche 911 / 996 Turbo S Transmission: manualMileage:61800The 996 model is a superb car; quick, reliable, well-made and representing the birth of the water-cooled 911. With a wide range of models on offer, the most iconic is, of course, the Turbo. Featuring four-wheel drive and a 3.6 litre, intercooled engine derived from the 1998 Le Mans winning GT-1 car pushing out 420bhp and hitting 60mph in a whisker over four seconds, this is genuine supercar territory. The 996 was seen as a more relaxed and usable 911; however, in Turbo guise, the driver would get the best of both worlds; a luxury leather interior with every creature comfort combined with the ability to drop the hammer and reach a top speed of a claimed 190mph. In 2002, the X50 package was offered as an option on the Turbo that included larger K24 turbochargers and intercoolers, a revised ECU and quad-pipe exhaust which raised power output to 444bhp, however in 2005, Porsche introduced the Turbo S model available as either a coupé or cabriolet. The Turbo S was essentially a 996 turbo with the X50 option but also included PCCB, six-disc CD changer and aluminium-faced instruments. Worldwide production for the 996 Turbo S (including both Coupé and Cabriolet) was 1,563 cars. This makes this model very limited in numbers.A collectable and rare example of the 911 presented in Artic Silver with contrasting black leather trim, this example of the iconic Turbo S was first registered on 4th October 2004. Originally a Porsche Press car and featured in magazines, copies of which can be found in the history file. Costing when new a shade under £100,000, this example has covered a mere 61,800 miles and presents well for a privately owned example. Importantly, a manual example of the ultimate incarnation of the 996 Turbo, this is one of just 1,563 units produced of a desirable Turbo S boasting the X50 engine and believed to be one of less than 60 UK manual cars. Upon inspection it was advised the car would benefit from new tyres and a wheel refurbishment, but our vendor has sensibly taken this into account when pricing the car allowing a new owner to adorn the Turbo S with their own choice. The bodywork and trim are all in very good order and the car recently obtained an MoT test certificate which is valid until July 2024 with the only advisories regarding tyre wear. The car boasts just six former keepers in its 19 years along with the original magazine from its use a press car and a large folder of paperwork and invoices. We are informed the car drives very well and is still eye wateringly fast as it should and, as a flagship Turbo S made at the end of the 996 generation's life, comes with the X50 option pack as factory standard. This includes larger turbochargers and intercoolers that propel the car to 60mph in four seconds and combined with Porsche's excellent stability control, makes for a sensational and satisfying drive. This stunning example is an ideal usable modern classic investment that can be fully enjoyed at a fraction of the original cost.
1961 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II Transmission: automaticMileage:19971The release of the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley 'S' series in 1955 was surely one of the main reasons behind the demise of most of the few remaining coachbuilders still producing bodies for Rolls-Royce and Bentley chassis. The Silver Cloud with a beautifully proportioned body, was a car which looked so 'right' that there was little incentive for customers to order bespoke coachwork, and therefore soon afterwards both Freestone & Webb and Hooper ceased coachbuilding. The Silver Cloud II was introduced in 1959 replacing the Silver Cloud I. Little changed externally but it featured the 6.2 litre V8 engine. Performance was greatly improved and the top speed was now raised to 114mph. The main improvements though were in acceleration and torque. Power steering became standard and electrically operated windows were now available as an option.This Silver Cloud II had led quite an interesting life. It was owned by Christopher Leefe between 1974-2008, who is best known as the author of the Rolls-Royce Alpine Compendium, of which a signed 1st edition copy is included in the sale. Mr Leefe relocated to Germany at some point in the cars past and decided to take the car with him. During its time in Germany, it was cared for by British car specialists M + R Automobile in Günding, just north of Munich. There are several invoices from M + R Automobile, including one for some comprehensive restoration work carried out in 2007. The car comes with an extensive history file, with many invoices dating back to 2000. Also included in the sale are copies of the extensive factory build sheets detailing all dates at various stages of the manufacturing process, a Silver Cloud II brochure and an original, bound owner's manual. The toolkit is also believed to be the original and the vendor informs us that it is complete.The overall condition of the car is very good, the bulk of the restoration work was carried out some 16 years ago now, but it was clearly done to a high standard as it has held up well. The interior appears to be original, offering a very nicely patinated feel without the need for any urgent attention. The paintwork has a good shine and the two-tone colour scheme which the car wears today suits it perfectly. The car has been upgraded with electronic ignition and a stainless steel exhaust. A new battery was fitted in September 2022 and the car has covered just 500 miles since its most recent service. The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud is possibly one of the most elegant luxury cars on the market and represents amazing value for money. Offered to auction due to a house move, this example will be missed by its owner but it is ready for its next custodian to enjoy.
