ARTHUR J LEESON, A Collection of Early Quarter-Plate Autochromes, six still life studies by Leeson, subjects including flowers, antique silver and porcelain and a Japanese cloisonne vase, one inscribed 'Branch of Pears, A J Leeson'. Biographical Note: Arthur Leeson was secretary of the Birmingham Photographic Society in the early years of the 20th century, He was an RPS exhibitor of autochromes from 1910 to 1913. He also exhibited with the Edinburgh Photographic Society and won a medal in 1914 for his autochrome 'Foxgloves'
Attributed to Joseph Mordecai (b.1860, fl. 1873-1899) - Still Life of flowers in a stone urn, also a companion, inscribed with the artist name and biographical details which include his exhibition dates, taken from The Dictionary of Victorian Painters by Christopher Wood, each 17" x 12.5" (pair) - ** Both pictures are contained within veneered maple wood frames with inner gilt slips
