Sir Jonah Barrington Judge of the High Court of Admiralty in Ireland `Personal Sketches of His Own Times` 1827, Henry Colburn, London. 2 vols bound as 1. Sir Jonah Barrington (born at Knapton, Abbeyleix 1760; died at Versailles, France on 8 April 1834), was an Irish lawyer, judge and politician. He is most notable for his amusing and popular memoirs of life in late 18th century Ireland; for his opposition to the Act of Union in 1800; and for his removal from the judiciary by both Houses of the Parliament in 1830, still a unique event.
BRYAN ORGAN (b.1935) Framed, signed and dated in print, 1987, and additionally signed and numbered in pencil, `54/75`, lithograph on paper, Contemporary still life of white lillies in a vase on a blue table. Organ painted an almost identical composition in oil, in 1977, before being commissioned in 1980 to paint an acrylic portrait of Prince Charles, which is now part of the Primary Collection of the National Portrait Gallery in London. 62.5cm x 62.5cm.
