1963 PORSCHE 356B 1600S 90 COUPEChassis No. 213006Engine No. 807837THE PORSCHE 356From the time that Porsche returned from Austria to Germany in 1950, most of their bodies had been built by Reutter, with whom they had had a long relationship. In the 1960s, however, Karmann, better known as a supplier to Volkswagen, built a number of coupe styles.Wilhelm Karmann acquired the coachbuilding enterprise of Klages in Osnabrück, Germany, in 1901. Already a volume producer, he could supply orders of 100 bodies a month, and became the major source for Adler in Frankfurt. Never a builder of one-off creations, Karmann began supplying convertible bodies to Volkswagen in 1949, and continued for the life of the Beetle model. From 1955 to 1974, Karmann also built two-seat Karmann-Ghia coupes and cabriolets in great numbers. Among work for a myriad of European manufacturers, including BMW, Opel and Renault, was the construction of coupe bodies for Porsche from 1961 to 1965.Some of these were of the 'hardtop' variety, also called 'notchback,' essentially a cabriolet with an optional steel hard top welded in place. Others were the standard coupe style, similar to those being built in larger numbers by Reutter. Fewer than 1,750 hardtops were built in two years, while annual coupe production climbed steadily, reaching 12,000 in 1964, about one third built by Karmann. The basic 1600 engine, often called '1600 Normal,' was rated at 60 DIN (European) horsepower with twin Zenith carburettors. It had two stronger siblings, however, the 1600 Super (75 DIN) and the Super 90, whose name proudly proclaimed its power output. Of the pushrod Porsches, it is the Super 90s that are particularly prized by enthusiasts today.THE MOTORCAR OFFEREDThe Dolleschel Collection S90 carries a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity which according to the data provided guides us to know that it was delivered on 22nd February 1963 and fitted with engine number 806837, which it retains to this day. As new, the car sported the understated scheme of Heron Grey and was trimmed with black leatherette, and it was equipped with a ventilated chrome wheels, shod with Dunlop tires and a single exterior mirror. The car's destination is not recorded on this document, however it may well have been destined for the burgeoning US market, where it was certainly resident by the mid-2000s. It was acquired by Mr. Dolleschel in April 2009, having returned to Germany from America the previous year from Pompano Beach in Florida. To judge from its condition at that time and still, it had been the subject of a restoration to the original colour scheme, Heron Grey being more an 'off-white' than a true grey, and with a black interior. It carries nice detail features such as a Becker Europa TR radio, and head rests to the seats. In the present ownership the car was used to begin with but has not seen much mileage in more recent years, and would now be best described as being in good driver-quality condition. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Pour toute question concernant le dédouanement, nous vous prions de consulter Le Département automobile de Bonhams ou nos transporteurs agréés.1977 Aston Martin V8 Series 3 'Wide Body' Sports SaloonChassis no. V8/11700/RCAEngine no. V/540/1700/LFAThe acquisition of Aston Martin by Company Developments in 1972 brought with it a change of name for the V8-engined cars: out went DBS V8, in came AM V8. This new Series 2 was readily distinguishable by its re-styled front which now featured two instead of four headlamps and recalled the looks of the earlier DB six-cylinder cars. Electronic ignition and air conditioning were now standard. Introduced in 1973, the Series 3 employed a quartet of Weber 42 DCNF carburettors instead of the previous Bosch mechanical fuel injection, the change bringing with it increased torque and necessitating a larger bonnet bulge. Despite the switch, fuel economy improved and even in automatic-transmission form the Weber-equipped car proved almost as quick as the preceding manual version. This automatic transmission Series 3 V8 comes with a copy of its Car Record Card showing that it was originally finished in Cambridge Blue with natural leather trim, and was delivered to AML Inc in the USA. According to the AMOC Register, the car was still in the USA in 1987. At some point in its life the V8 was fitted with the wide body kit it still wears today, adding significant width and presence to the car. The vendor purchased the V8 from Autorama in March 2013 (it should be noted that the purchase receipt incorrectly describes the car as a Vantage). Accompanying documentation includes an old US State of Florida title and old Swiss customs import certificate. The car has been on static display for a number of years and may require recommissioning prior to road use. Please note that if this vehicle remains within France the reduced rate of Import VAT at 5.5% will be charged on the hammer price. Please note that if you purchase as an EU Company, the VAT amount will be calculated based on your registered country's rate. SCFCAM1S1NBL50347Engine no. 89/50347/A'Launched at the International Motor Show, Birmingham, in October 1988, the sensational new Virage restated its Aston Martin V8 forerunner's muscular looks in the modern idiom, contriving to be slightly narrower yet providing increased interior space. The car was still no lightweight, but with 330bhp on tap courtesy of the trusty V8 engine's new 32-valve top end, was good enough for a top speed approaching 160mph (257km/h) and a 0-60mph (0-96km/h) time of under seven seconds. This automatic transmission Virage was originally built to Gulf Co-operation Council specification and left the factory finished in Suffolk Red with red-piped Magnolia trim. The current vendor purchased the car from Aston Workshop in December 2019, at which time it was described as '(a) time-warp, low mileage example... one of only 37 produced as original factory LHD and having covered only 27,000 km from new'. It was also stated that the Aston had formed part of an overseas private collection, been used sparingly and dry stored for much of its life. Accompanying documentation consists of copies of the Car Record Card, old UK V5C Registration Certificate, the 2019 purchase invoice and a recently expired UK MoT certificate. It should be noted that the latter records the mileage total as 1,801, which may be an error. This lot has been on static display and may require recommissioning prior to road use. Please note that if this vehicle remains within France the reduced rate of Import VAT at 5.5% will be charged on the hammer price.
