1969 Wolseley 1300 Mk. II Transmission: manualMileage:47134Alec Issigonis will be best remembered for the Mini and the Morris Minor, but arguably one of his greatest successes was ADO16, the BMC/British Leyland family saloon of the 1960s and 1970s, with its incredibly spacious interior within compact overall dimensions, its superb fluid cushion ride and its mix of models from bargain Austin and Morris through sophisticated Wolseley, gentlemanly Riley, sporting MG and 1300GT, and toff’s Vanden Plas Princess. This 1300 Mk. II is an example of what is considered the best of the Wolseley ADO16 with more luxurious trim, twin carbs, wood dash and a distinctive strip speedometer. Presented with a Sand bodywork and complementary trim, this 50 year old car boasts its original chrome and paint in good order due to the fact it has been garaged and used sparingly its entire life, indeed a hark back to times when the family car was the most treasured of assets. The interior includes Britax Auto-Lok (inertia reel) seat belts and is stunning and even the driver’s seat barely looks used. The veneered wood dash still has its, as-new, gloss and the distinctive strip speedometer, so much a feature of the ADO16 and looks like new. The twin-carb 1300 engine produced a healthy 65bhp, only 5bhp below the highest output engine fitted to an ADO16 when new. The engine has recently been removed, the engine bay restored, new clutch and all oil seals and rubber mounts replaced, so this is still a lively little car that will easily keep pace with modern traffic. Its first owner clocked up 18,000 miles in 16 years before selling it to Mr and Mrs Leo Hill who have kept it in the family ever since. Used by their daughter for some years, it reverted to their care and for decades attended shows with the Wolseley Register of which its owners were keen members. The vehicle has completed multiple times the London to Brighton classic runs and been the winner of the Wolseley National Show, it was a well-travelled car at the local and national shows over its lifetime. We are informed that recently new rear brake cylinders, master cylinder seals, rear brake pipes and flexible hoses, fuel lines, air filter, engine oil and filter and battery were all fitted. The car has an MoT test certificate which is valid until October 2022 and has no advisories.Guide Price £6,000 - £9,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Transmission: manualMileage:78364The Porsche 911 shape and engineering methodology has not changed much since the very first model, the 1939 Series 64. It has proved reliable and, with the finest designers available, has grown in reputation according to developing trends around it. It has proved itself in motorsport just as it has on the French Riviera. In recent years, Porsche breathed life into a new generation of 911, the 996. 2004 saw the launch of the 997 with improved styling, larger 18” wheels and an increase in power. The 997 C4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering. The Carrera offered today is presented with the best possible specification, it benefits from four-wheel drive and is an ‘S’ model with larger 19” wheels, a 3.8 litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, sports suspension and a sports exhaust are included as standard. Offered with two sets of keys and recently serviced. The extensive options list includes Bose upgraded stereo, satellite navigation and telephone preparation, extended leather including wingback/hardback seats with full heated electric memory functionality, a Sports Chrono Plus package as well as a full black leather interior and Alcantara roof lining. The service history is, importantly, comprehensive with stamps from both main agents and specialists which include the important borescope checks, condensers, heat shields and RMS/IMS maintenance. The terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 165

1969 Marcos 1600GT Transmission: manualMileage:89131In 1966 the Marcos GT changed from using the expensive Volvo 1800cc unit to more affordable Ford 1500cc and 1600cc ones. The glass fibre bodied Marcos 1800 GT had been a sensation when first shown at the 1964 Racing Car Show. This was to be the design that would become familiar to sports car enthusiasts for more than 30 years, even though the original plywood chassis would later be replaced by a steel chassis and the futuristic scalloped dashboard also vanished after a few years. The plywood chassis was glued together from 386 separate pieces and was not only light and strong, but also required a minimum up front investment to construct. The extremely low Marcos required a nearly supine driving position and fixed seats, mounted lower than the floor of the car. In return, the entire pedal set could be moved fore and aft with a knob on the dashboard.Without a doubt, simply the best 1600GT we have ever seen. The supplied Marcos heritage records and correspondence in the impressive history file shows this beautiful Marcos was first supplied to Franco Paulo Pizzalon Esq. of Mountsorrel, Leicester on Monday 30th December 1968 having been ordered just a couple of months earlier on 5th November 1968. Ordered new in the same colours it still sports of Porsche Orange with black trim, the car was lovingly restored after the vendor acquired the car in 2013. Painted to a high standard, it looks as if the car has been painted much more recently. The interior was also completely retrimmed by Auto Lounge in Buckinghamshire and the car sits on a set of very rare period magnesium Minilites.First registered on 6th January 1969, the car was clearly loved and used a lot. The file shows a record of various maintenance work carried out throughout its early life. At some point between 1972 and 1975 the Ford crossflow unit was swapped for a Lotus Twin cam engine. Indeed, the original advert and the engine’s specification are included in the history file. It shows that the twin cam was built to a high specification with a ported and polished Mk. 2 head, steel main caps, competition bearings, Tufrided crank and flywheel, Powermax pistons and more. A unique period modification which makes perfect sense to the ethos of the Marcos brand. The car truly does present incredibly well and is reported to run and drive just as well. The car is supplied with its UK V5C registration document showing only 3 former keepers -the first two being Mr. Pizzalon and his son and the third, a friend of theirs. The vendor bought the car in 2013 and started the full restoration from there.  The accompanying history file includes the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts. A unique example of what must be the best in class of one of the true giant slayers of British 1960’s automotive ingenuity.  Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 201

1949 Bentley Mk. VI Special Transmission: Mileage:57889The Bentley Mk. VI was the first post-war luxury car from Bentley, produced from 1946 to 1952. It was also the first car from Rolls-Royce with factory coachwork although chassis were still also supplied to independent coachbuilders. The chassis and engine went on to be used as the basis of those in the Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith of 1946 and Silver Dawn of 1949. The factory bodies were made by Pressed Steel Ltd of Coventry and sent to the Bentley works at Crewe for painting and fitting out with traditional wood and leather.Applying the aeronautical skills he learnt whist working at De Havilland, the well-respected engineer John Anderson built 12 Mk. VI Specials, each one unique in its own way. This 1949 registered Bentley was built by him in 1984 and, after being converted to a ‘Special’, spent most of its life in Australia. When the owner passed away, the car was then sold to Anderson’s son. This Mk. VI Special has been used on a regular basis by the knowledgeable vendor and enjoyed immensely. The 4¼ litre engine starts on the button and runs very well. The gearbox operates as it should and this Bentley offers brisk performance, particularly taking into account it is 72 years old. The green coachwork is in good order as is the aluminium bonnet. The black leather interior presents well and is complemented by the wooden dashboard and easy to read dials. The proportions of this Mk. VI Special are very good making this a very handsome car indeed - it is easy to see why the vendor has enjoyed using this car as his daily driver! Supplied with a UK V5C registration document this Bentley is only being sold due to a change in the vendor’s circumstances.

Lot 248

1984 Land Rover Series III Transmission: manualMileage:46500Land Rovers were inspired by the US-built Willys Jeep immediately after the war and by 1992, Land Rover claimed that 70% of all the vehicles they had ever built were still in use. Before the war, Rover had produced luxury cars which ceased to be in demand in the immediate post-war period and raw materials were strictly rationed to those companies building construction or industrial equipment. Rover's original factory in Coventry had also been bombed, forcing the company to move into a huge factory it had built in Solihull to construct aircraft. The Series III is the most common vehicle, with 440,000 of the type built from 1971 to 1985. The headlights were moved to the wings and the traditional metal grille featured on its predecessor, was replaced with a plastic one. The production run for the Series III was from 1971 through to 1985 and during this cycle (1976) the 1,000,000th Land Rover rolled off the production line. The Series III saw many changes in the later part of its life as Land Rover updated the design to meet increased competition. This great looking Land Rover was originally registered and used by The British Army. The spare wheel is bonnet mounted to allow for additional room in the load space area. This long wheel base example has benefitted from recent works which includes a rebuild of the 2.3 litre petrol engine, a new clutch and four new tyres. These superb vehicles are the ultimate utilitarian mode of transport, happy on the road and equally as happy driving through a muddy field. Supplied with a UK V5C registration document and, unusually, some army history in addition to several recent invoices. Offered for sale without reserve.Guide price £8,000-£10,000Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 195

1965 Ford Mustang Convertible (289ci) Transmission: automaticMileage:26772The Ford Mustang is an American icon and was originally based on the Ford Falcon compact. The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan in March 1964 and was introduced to the public at the New York World's Fair on 17th April 1964. It was, and remains, one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market and its legend lives on with revised models still in production today some 50 years after production commenced. With each revision, the Mustang saw an increase in overall dimensions and in engine power. By 1969, the muscle car race was on and Ford offered a 351 or 428 Cobra Jet and other performance engines in most models, although these were often ordered with the Fastback and Mach One cars. Ford added a Fastback to its 1965 Mustang line-up, but the convertible holds a special place in American culture and was heavily publicised as ‘a car to escape the mundane nature of life.’ Finished in burgundy metallic with excellent linen vinyl interior, this 1965 Mustang convertible has been the subject of an earlier restoration and presents extremely well. It is fitted with a power roof, automatic transmission and sits on a great set of 16 x 7 alloy road wheels. She has been equipped with the highly desirable ‘Borgeson’ power steering conversion and disc brakes to the front. The Borgeson system uses a new power steering box and Saginaw pump which powers the steering column and is more positive, giving a much better ‘feel’. The disc brake conversion uses all new parts and improves braking significantly. The 289ci engine has recently had new head gaskets fitted and is able to run on unleaded fuel. A four-barrel Edelbrock carburettor is fitted, and we are told this Mustang offers a spirited performance with a meaningful exhaust note. Registered in the UK and supplied with a V5C registration document, this Mustang is ready to be enjoyed immediately and is a real head turner.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.
