A Royal Welsh Regiment Lord Lieutenant's forage dress cap owned by Sir George Hamer (b.1885-d.1965) constructed of dark blue cloth with a scarlet red centre band, embroidered badge, the black patent leather visor with two rows of silver oak leaves and a green underside, black patent leather chinstrap affixed by a single regimental button to either side, interior with pale brown lining and brown leather sweatband, together with G.A.Dunn & Co Hat box and a card inscribed 'Mr. George F. A Victorian coromandel dressing table box with silver mounted fittings, with London hallmarks for 1860, Silversmiths Pittway Bros. (John and William), with flush front jewellery drawer and side drawer. There is a mirror recessed into the lid with stationery compartment behind. Width 31 cm, depth 23 cm, height 19 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The box is in extremely good condition. The coromandel is well figured and the veneers are in good condition all round with no significant fractures and no losses. The top shuts flush. The hinges are in very good order with no damage surrounding. Both drawers spring open as they should. The lock is present but we have no key. It is however unlocked and the lock is not self-locking. All silver topped jars are present and none are inscribed. the large rectangular vessel is in good order with no issues. The smaller rectangular box has one very minor corner chip and several very minor almost insignificant edge nibbles. The two small cylindrical jars are both in good order with no chips. The centre scent bottle has a crack running from the top threaded section all down one side. There is no movement and no loss. The same jar has some very minor edge nibbles. The right hand flanking cylindrical jar is in good order with no issues. The left hand one has several small bottom edge nibbles and two under edge small chips. The left hand scent bottle is complete with stopper and has no issues. The right hand scent bottle also has the stopper. The threaded neck rim has an upper edge chip which is completely covered by the lid. The accessories seem to be original as they fit the apertures. The button hook is slightly too long and the right hand side compartment with the larger scissors has one item missing.
Scots Guards Victorian Quartermaster’s cocked hat.A very fine scarce black silk ‘beaver’ example, by L. Silbertson of 2 Regent Place, London W, edged with wide band of black oakleaf lace and bearing gold bullion tassels at each end. A gold lace ‘loop’ is placed diagonally on the right side, set on a clack cockade, terminates in a gilt regimental button. Red pleated lining bears gold embossed Royal Arms and hatter’s details; adjustable cream leather sweatband. On the sight side of the crown, near the gold lace loop, fits the upright white feather plume. Minor service wear. VGC
Boer War 1900 Other Rank’s White Foreign Service Helmet.A good rare example of the high crown pattern helmet with wrapped pagri. The interior retaining leather sweatband, this with WD 1900 issue stamp. Complete with with button to the crown and brass chinchain with leather backing. Evidence of a helmet plate having been worn to the front. The helmet retains a good shape, with no damage to the cork. Exterior has been whitened.
Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars Officer’s Busby. A fine Officer’s fur busby, worn by Captain Hallowes. Brown fur busby fitted with a scarlet bag with three lines of silver flat braid and silver bullion gimp pearl button. To the front a bullion silver cockade and to the body three silver bullion lines. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson silk lining with tailor’s gold embossed stamp of Hawkes London. Retaining silvered gimp chin chain with velvet backing. A silvered boss supports an all white plume. Contained in the original japanned storage tin with brass engraved name plate “Captain Hallowes Bucks Yeo”. The plume is also contained in tin. The overall condition is good some age and storage wear.

To the front a bullion gilt cockade. To the interior, leather sweatband and part crimson material edging and lining. Three gimp bullion cords to the body of the busby. Retaining fire gilt gimp chin chain with leather backing. Overall a good example, plume absent.400
Mid 19th Century Leicestershire Yeomanry Victorian Officer’s TunicA very rare double breasted scarlet lancer style uniform c 1860-1873. Scarlet melton cloth with blue facings to the collar, cuffs and piping on edges. Complete with fine silvered regimental buttons (one now displaced but present). Collar and pointed cuffs both edged with silver Denmark pattern lace. Plaited silver detachable shoulder cords forming wings at outer ends. No rank badges. One waist seam button removed. Cloth faded with some wear and repairs. Overall GC,
Napoleonic War Period Oxford Light Dragoons Officer’s Light Cavalry Sword.A rare and fine quality late 18th Century Officer’s sword retailed through Prosser of London. The single edged 30 inch blade is engraved to the forte both sides “Oxford Light Dragoons”. The back of the blade with cutler’s details of Runkel of Solingen. The hilt wit fire gilt single bar guard with ball decoration and to the langet an mounted decoration. The shagreen grip retains twist wire copper binding. Housed in original black leather and gilt mounted scabbard fitted with two loose rings and frog button. The top mount with the details of “Prosser Late Cullum”. Overall Good condition, blade has been repolished, engraving to the forte clear.
British Army 1847 Infantry Pattern Victorian Officer’s sword.A good example retailed through Landon & Morland of London. Single edged 32 inch fullered, slightly curved blade decorated with a VR entwined cypher surmounted by crown and with initials “RNC”. Gilt metal hilt with crowned VR cypher, shagreen grip and copper twist wire binding. Housed in restored leather and gilt metal scabbard fitted with two loose rings and frog button. Blade clean, etching remains clear. Gilt worn to base metal. GC.
WW2 RAF and RCAF Airman Forage Capsconsisting blue grey, woollen crown, body and curtain. Brass, KC RAAF badge and buttons. Internal tag with service number. Together with copy photo of owner and brass, Air Ministry button stick code dated “40” ... Similar blue grey, woollen cap. Brass, KC RCAF badge and buttons. Internal Canadian maker’s stamp dated “1943”. Minor wear. 2 items.
WW2 RAF Battle of Britain Period, 1940 Dated, 1932 Pattern, Green Mae West A rare RAF issue example. Green rubberised material stole with front button and strap securing ( 2 buttons absent). The front with stencilled instructions. Interior with 1940 dated, Air Ministry issue label, size “Medium”. Neck retaining original “Lightening” zip (seized). The Mae West appears to to be contemporarily fitted with a bladder and kapok pads. Some service wear and slight staining.
A Victorian hallmarked silver card case with Classical decoration by Arthur Fenwick, Birmingham 1899, a hallmarked silver vesta case with initials 'WR' to shield by Smith & Bartlam, Birmingham 1904 and a silver-handled button hook (3). CONDITION REPORT Card case: some very small indentations to corner of flip top, some surface scratches. No obvious signs or repair or other damage, clear hallmarks. Vesta: age-related wear, no obvious damage, clear hallmarks. Button hook: age-related wear, mainly to hook, clear hallmarks.
A mixed lot including hallmarked 9ct gold comprising a crucifix pendant on chain, a Majex wristwatch with gold strap and a pair of cufflinks, gross wt. 19.84g, together with an eternity ring marked '9c sil', wt. 3.12g, a yellow metal button, a gilt metal target brooch, a light blue past pendant on chain marked 'Sterling', a hallmarked silver wedding band and a pair of white metal stud earrings set with light blue paste. Condition - various damage.
