Silver hilt; sword-knot with two shell-guards, finely carved in bass-relief with four, fine scenes portraying the goddess Diana on a throne, flanked by two animals, a feast of heroes in a military camp, a farmer whipping two oxen pulling the plow, a sailing ship surmounted by an angel that sails along a lighthouse. The block portraying antique warriors. The guard with relieved rinceaux, the pommel portraying classic deities, octagonal button. Grip with silver wire bindings and moor's heads. Traces of gilding. Small nicks to the leather, the legs on both chairs have dents and scratches in places. Under the seats there is some stainng and what appear to be water marks. The modern Parker Knoll chair has fading and wear to most areas specifically to the wings, the arms and the back of the chair. Discolouration and fading, some staining, areas of dirt and accretions, the legs on the chair have dents and scratches. The two leather stools both show wear to the leather, scratches, tiny nicks to the leather, staining, accretions.
