A late 19th Century French engraved gilt brass cased carriage clock with push button repeat, the enamelled dial with Roman numerals inscribed with retailer's name "Parkinson & Frodsham, Change Alley, Cornhill, London", 12.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Some scuffs and scratches throughout. Some small knocks to edges of the brass. Some scratches to the glass. The wording to the dial is quite faint. It is not known whether or not the clock is in working order.
A 19th Century coromandel and brass bound vanity case by Jenner and Knewstub, the lid opening to reveal a fitted interior comprising various silver mounted cut glass dressing table bottles (Brownett & Rose, London, 1860), each with engraved top initialled "NH", together with various other dressing table accoutrements to include thimble, scissors, button hook, measure, etc by Brookes & Crookes, together with various ivory handled mirrors and brushes, glove stretchers, shoe horns, etc, some inscribed Jenner & Knewstub, and a vanity mirror and a bottom drawer opening to reveal brass labels inside, one inscribed "Jenner & Knewstub Manufacturers to The Queen, 33 St. James's Street, London" and another inscribed "J Bramah 124 Piccadilly", housed in a leather carrying case initialled "HN" to top CONDITION REPORTS Case excluding cover - approx 26.3cm x 20.5cm x 37.5cm. Handles are very stiff, when open the mirror is difficult to remove and has come off its back board, although is present. Hand mirror has a disintegrating mirror plate, stained and marked. Dressing table bottles - there are three that should have stoppers, but one stopper is stuck, another is missing, and the other is severely chipped, these three bottles also have some chips to bases and fritting all over. The two cylindrical bottles are in similar condition. The other boxes have general wear. The dressing table items - one is broken, and another item is missing, one set of scissors has a small crack to handle. General wear to the gilding. Some rust marks to steel. One hairbrush handle is badly cracked and another brush handle is cracking at ends. There is some loss to the inking of the engraving initials. One shoe horn and brush do not match, and the additional glove stretchers are cracked and are not initialled. Some of the leather interior is ripped and one board is loose. Generally whole case is a bit stiff and has wear and tear, but generally in good condition. The brass inlay at the bottom of the secret drawer is coming away in both parts and rubbing along the top of the secret drawer. The outer cover has wear, especially to the edges and the leather straps are broken, there is a paper label on it, various creasing. The velvet is faded and marked to interior.

Victorian Irish Cavalry Officer’s Pill Box Cap. A good and scarce example of dark blue melton cloth with a broad band of gold lace embroidered with green shamrocks. To the crown ornate gold bullion cord, with purl button. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson silk lining this with gold tooled tailor’s label of Hawkes of London. Complete with thin chinstrap, part detached. Overall GC slight stitching fault and age wear.
Surrey Yeomanry Officer’s Khaki Pillbox Cap A very good scarce example in lancer style, by Hobson & Sons. Khaki serge, with a scarlet cloth band 1 ¼ in. wide and two rows of scarlet Russia braid crossing the top under a red cloth button. Roan leather band and crimson lining with maker’s name in gold tooling. GC

To the crown ornate silver bullion cord, with purl button. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson silk lining, complete with thin chinstrap. Overall GC.
Cheshire Regiment Officer’s Full Dress Tunic etc. A good post-1902 regulation example. Scarlet cloth with buff facings; white piping to fronts. Metal Acorn collar-badges and regimental buttons. Twisted shoulder-cords each bearing one embroidered rank-star. Quilted cotton lining. Minor moth damage to collar and skirt-lining ... a mess jacket of the same regiment, of lightweight scarlet cloth with buff roll collar , pointed cuffs and shoulder-straps, white piping to front and bottom of jacket. Four small buttons to front, embroidered rank-stars, quilted scarlet lining. Collar-badges absent, minimal moth ... a similar jacket of modest quality, with large gilt metal rank-stars. Plain red lining, one button absent ... companion buff waistcoat, with roll collar and four buttons as on the jackets ... and a pair of blue twill pantaloons for a mounted officer of infantry, with scarlet welts. Minimal moth. (5 items) These Cheshire Regt. items were originally in a metal uniform-trunk inscribed “C.R.Andrews, The Cheshire Regt.” Charles Raymond Andrews (1890-1915) was born the son of an army officer at Rangoon. Commissioned in May 1912 he served with the 2nd Bn. on the Western Front and died near Hooge in May 1915 after leading the remnants of his already decimated battalion in an attack on the German lines. He was believed to have been the first man into the trench for which he received a posthumous MiD.
Royal Navy / Fleet Air Arm Officer’s cased cocked hat set. A superb example, comprising: Cocked Hat fine black beaver skin example, to the left side a black silk rosette with a single twist loop mounted with a gilt post 1902 gilt button to the centre. The cocked hat is edged with one inch black lace; at each end, bullion tassels with blue lines. The interior is with leather sweatband and silk pleated lining. Tailor’s label for Gieves London ... Accompanied by full dress bullion epaulettes with silver bullion fouled anchor ... Full dress sword belt with gilt buckle and sword slings, black leather with two bullion lines ... Contained in the original metal and velvet lined storage tin, this with the name of “A.E. Ogilvy”. Bullion remains very fresh, ( 4 items) Attributed to Alexander Eaton Ogilvy who was born in Epsom in 1913. He entered Dartmouth in 1927 and was appointed Sub Lieutenant in 1934. He transferred for duties as an Air Observer to the newly formed Fleet Air Arm and on the 4th September 1940 was serving on the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious, when he was involved in an air accident resulting in his death.

Crimson bag with regimental style trimming of narrow yellow braid with central line terminating in cord button. The plume is of red over white hair. Brass chinchain with leather lining (stitching faults). Lining worn and dry. Busby with some fur loss, moth hole to bag.

Herefordshire Regiment Officer’s Scarlet Tunic. A good and scarce example of the 1880 pattern tunic, scarlet melton cloth with green facings to the collar and cuffs. The former retaining regimental pattern bullion collar badges and with bullion shoulder cords, (only one rank star and button). Six regimental pattern buttons to the front and quilted lining to the interior. Minor age wear. GC
Scottish. 79th Fifeshire Rifle Volunteers Officer’s Victorian Tunic. A very rare example. Scarlet cloth with blue collar and cuffs. Fronts and skirts edged with blue cloth piping. Silver “Vellum” lace and Russia braid to top of collar. Pointed cuffs, edged with silver square cord, traced with Russia, forming an Austrian knot at the points. Six large white metal regimental buttons in front bearing “79” within title circlet and thistle wreath. Plain back with two vents. Twisted silver shoulder-cords bearing an embroidered star. Good quilted cotton lining. One shoulder-cords is attached with a contemporary Rifle Volunteer button, the other with an incorrect button. Some staining to left skirt, stitching faults to collar lace. Minimal moth, lace and cord dull.

To the crown Lancer pattern quartered bullion cord, with purl button. The interior with leather sweatband and crimson silk lining, bearing gold tooling of the tailor’s details of Hawkes & Co, complete with thin chinstrap ... Accompanied by a correct pattern metal storage tin. Overall GC bullion remains bright.
Royal Sherwood Foresters Victorian Officer’s silvered closed-back coatee button. Good example by Doughty & Co. 103 St. Martins Lane, London. Crowned Arms of Nottingham resting in ‘Royal Sherwood Foresters’ scroll. Complete with shank. VGC Approx. 22 mm Became became 4th Bn. Derbyshire Regt. 1.7.1881. “Royal” granted by Prince Regent in 1813 for Public Duties performed at the Tower of London, Bank of England etc.
11th Prince Albert’s Own Hussars Victorian Officer’s Busby. A fine example of the last pattern by Cater & Co, 56 Pall Mall, London. Brown fur, with triple gold purl cords and gimp boss. Crimson bag with regimental style trimming of narrow gold French braid, forming a circle of eyes around the gold gimp button. . The plume is of white ostrich over crimson vulture feathers, with silvered ring and corded socket, Fine gilt corded chinchain with black velvet lining (stitching faults). The busby is complete with a black japanned busby tin and calico bag and a separate plume tin case. Service wear and minor age fur loss ... Complemented with a set of regimental pattern gold cap-lines with acorn finials and four woven sliders. A plaited section between the neck and finials. VGC
Victorian Cocked Hat of Major General Charles Van Notton Pole. A good example of the regulation pattern black silk bi-corn hat, with gold bullion loop, Household Levee pattern button and gold/crimson tassels, fore and aft. The interior with pale roan leather internal sweatband, and crimson silk lining with tailor’s details of J.B. Johnson London. The hat is fitted with an associated short dropping white and red swan feather plume ... Accompanied by metal storage tin, this with engraved name plate of Lt Col C Van Notton Pole Fort Major”. (2 parts)#11; Major General Charles Van Notton Pole was originally commissioned into the Grenadier Guards in 1849. He later transferred into the Cape Mounted Rifles and was promoted to Lt. Col in 1874 an Colonel 1879. He was appointed an Honorary Major General in 1883.
