A gilt brass carriage clock, R & Co, Paris, circa 1900, with eight-day strike/repeat gong striking movement and platform lever escapement, the white enamel chapter ring with Arabic numerals applied to a pierced gilt mask, the case with Solomonic columns to the angles, 17cm high, in the original leatherette and velvet lined carry case, 20cm highProvenance: Berwick House, ShropshireCondition Report: The movement is not ticking at time of report, the platform and lever escapement appear to be original - the clock has a key and we have wound it lightly but there is no sustained movement. The push button release. A screw is not attached to secure the handle to the top plate and the case - this is all therefore loose. The screw is jammed in the side of the mechanism and will require releasing and re-siting. There is also a missing finial to the handleThere is dirt and discolouration to the git areas and also pitting. A damask button upholstered sofa, in Victorian style, 20th century and later, of kidney outline, 84cm high, 171cm wide, approximately 91cm deep overall Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, HerefordshireCondition Report: Upholstery with some marks, stains, including rubbing to some piped cushion edges There are also four Shepherd's metal bulbous casters that are not visible in the photograph, but they are inset to the frame in front of the stained block feet. The cushions appear small in the sofa, not quite large enough to fill front to back. Moth damage. Collar badges absent. Together with a 19th century, footman?s tailcoat. Scarlet melton tailcoat. High black collar with gilt braid decoration. Black, breast front panels, each with 12 double gimp lines terminating with flat gilt buttons. Black cuffs with four gimp lines terminating with flat gilt buttons. Gilt, gimp edged, false button flaps. Shoulder straps with gilt braid and gimp edge decoration. White cotton lining. Promoted Lieutenant 1911 and Captain in 1915. Awarded MC. and 1914 Star. Served France and Flanders.

A George V 9 carat gold sovereign case, having all-over foliate engraved decoration and vacant cartouche, maker Dennison Watch Case Co, Birmingham, 1910, 4.2cm including suspension ring, 16.2g.Condition report: Button mechanism working but does need a bit of encouragement to open.Hallmark to button is slightly worn.All other hallmarks good.Overall condition is very good with some light surface scratches to the cartouche.
A French 6 shot 7mm Lefaucheux double action pinfire revolver c 1865, number 9741 next to “LF” mark, round barrel with octagonal breech 90mm, with an unusual cocking mechanism where the scear, which is operated by a button on the trigger bearing on an external pin, engages on bents cut into the rear of the hammer, with ejector rod, folding trigger, and plain ebony grips. GWO & C, the barrel and cylinder retaining much original blued finish but also having surface rust. £200-250
