2pc BENSABBOT STERLING & JADE HOOK LETTER SET A stunning Bensabbot, Chicago sterling silver desk set including a gold wash magnifying glass and letter opener. Each item mounted with figural hand carved jade garment hook. Finely carved depicting Chih Lung dragons. Each slightly curved with button to bottom. Both specimens of glowing white jade to pale green jade. Some slight russet mottling. Magnifying glass holds `BENSABBOT STERLING` mark. Magnifying glass measures 10 1/2" length x 4 1/4" width (26.6cm x 10.7cm), with the handle measuring approx. 5 1/8" length (13cm). Letter opener measures 12" length (30.4cm). Jade circa Qing Dynasty period, 18th/19th century. Decorated by Bensabbot circa 19th to early 20th century. Total weight of 582 grams. A very similar magnifying glass piece sold at Bonhams, San Francisco, auction 19094, `Chinese Works of Art` sale, March, 15 2011 for $6,100, including buyer`s premium.
