Hamptons of London; a large well-drawn three-seat Chesterfield style settee, late 19th century, with bold roll-over back and deep buttoned stuff over upholstery, supported by squat turned legs with swivel gilt brass and brown pottery castors bearing the company name, 210 cm wide x 86 cm deep x 69 cm high, the seat 42 cm high.The springs/webs are a little soft and one sinks when seated, the frame seems sound but the upholstery is a little loose and could do with some attention, the legs and castors are in good order.The seat seems to tilt backwards, this could be as a result of a failed web or softened coiled spring or both.The upholstery has a button loose and we have the button.The piece has a good shape and the upholstery is intact and not an offensive colour or fabric.
