:AN INDIAN KARD, late 18th / early 19th century, with 10in. watered single-edged blade (watered pattern feint) with a chiselled waved back-edge and raised forte, the flat of the right side of the blade with a band of gold-damascened decoration and a gold-damascened cartouche containing an inscription, the back-edge and forte decorated with gold-damascened bands and foliage, the hilt comprising a gilt collar decorated with scrollwork and a polished agate one-piece grip with gilt button finial (finial stone missing), in original purple velvet-covered scabbard (velvet worn) with silver-gilt locket and chape decorated in low relief with flowers and foliage.
