A Victorian Silver Vesta-Case Cum Pocket-Knife, by Sampson Mordan and Co., London, 1893, oval and with suspension loop, one side with hinged cover which opens to reveal the compartment for vestas, the other with folding steel button hook and knife, with striker, 6.5cm long, gross weight 1oz. Fully marked inside vesta case, the back and hinged cover each part marked. The marks are generally clear. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use.
Five Various Victorian and Edward VII Silver Medals and a Victorian Silver and Enamel Button, the medals each of various form, four engraved with inscriptions for cycling presented to J. A. Metcalf, the obverse of the fifth stamped with depiction of S. F. Cody, the reverse stamped with Victory holding a bicycle wheel and with a cycle race in the background, the button enamelled with the English coat-of-arms within the legend 'National Cyclists Union', 6cm high and smaller, 3oz 3dwt (97.8gr) (6) . There are surface scratches and wear, consistent with age and use. There are some minor chips and scratches to the enamel on the button.
