The lid interior with inset mirror in corded surround over a flush fitted tray in cream and blue velvet, the mother of pearl fittings comprising a rectangular needle case with gilt metal and enamel pansy motif inscribed 'Souvenir D'amitie', a thimble with gilt wire bordered frieze and enamel and gilt metal pansy motif, a set of four snowflake thread winders in circular mirror base compartments, a stiletto with gold shield motif, a pair of steel bladed scissors with cornucopia carved arms (blade points apart), a pair of reels, a bodkin, a tweezer / tooth pick / earspoon, a tambour hook, a single steel bladed folding knife, a letter knife with inset gold shield and a cut glass scent bottle complete with internal stopper but with loss to the metal screw top. The lower section of the box fitted with a musical box below a silk covered card, the comb complete but spring inoperative and with two pearl button form operating catches to the front of the box, two small chips to veneer on left base side of box, 21.6 x 14.7 x 7cms.
