Exquisite and extremely rare snuffbox is a magnificent example of Russian decorative and applied art of the mid-19th century. Made of silver and gold, it has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. Particular attention is drawn to the lid, made in the technique of painted enamel with the image of the mythological scene of the Offering of Gifts to Venus. The central drawing is framed by a gold edging, adding elegance and sophistication to the item. The sides and the bottom of the snuffbox are decorated with a geometric pattern made in the gelosh technique. The snuffbox button is made of gold, harmoniously giving the product a contrast with the case. Hallmarks: the hallmark of an unknown master with the initials in Cyrillic ФБ, the full hallmark of the Moscow District Assay Office with the initials A.K and the numbers 1852 corresponding to the hallmark of the quality master Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky, the numbers 84 corresponding to the silver sample, the city hallmark of the city of Moscow St. George the Victorious on a horse. Crystal jug with silver, 13th artel. An excellent example of understanding Western historicism in Russian decorative and applied art. An example of stylish classical reflection on the theme of the early French Renaissance. The proportional expansion and emphasized functionality, the shape of the handle, the modern character of its decor, the belt of the Renaissance decor at the neck are complemented by the strict and majestic laconicism of a silver drum with classic garlands suspended from the bottom. An Edward VII Silver Mounted and Cut Glass Square Scent Bottle, by The Goldsmiths and Silversmiths Company Ltd, London 1903, the mounts pierced and embossed with leaf scrolls, 5.25ins highThe cover is very slightly off centre. The push button works. Generally light rubbing to the highlights commensurate with age. Hallmarks struck on cover, on side of upper section of mounts and on base of lower section of mounts - some are very dirty, those on underside are slightly rubbed. There is no internal stopper. The glass appears to be in good considtion.

Drocourt, Paris: a 19th Century French gilt brass repeating carriage clock, retailed by Hawley & Co, Regent Street London, the foliate engraved case with engraved handle and repeat button to top, platform lever escapement, striking on the hour and the half, repeating on the hour, the reverse with stamped makers mark, numbered "16780" to reverse and underside, 18cms high with handle raised.
A 19th Century French gilt brass repeating carriage alarm clock, the white enamel Roman dial signed 'Howell, James & Co, to the Queen, London & Paris', with subsidiary Arabic alarm dial, the mask, case and back plate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage, platform lever escapement, alarm and repeat button, striking on a single gong, stamped '5870' to reverse and underside, 17.5cms high with handle raised.

An antique brown button-back studded-leather upholstered Chesterfield sofa. Overall width 215cm, height 75cm, depth 90cm, seat width 166cm, height 46cm, depth 60cm.Generally good used condition. Some abrasions, particularly to legs. Central seat pad is cracked and the buyer might consider patching.
An 18th century eastern / Batavian padouk-wood spice box on stand, decorated with brass and copper mounts, marked for the Dutch East-India Company (VOC). Width 99cm, height 54cm, depth 51cm.Height when removed from stand 36cm. Used condition, this has been reinforced with oak brackets and there is a patch in the copper to the front of the chest. All metal-work has been well polished, and some of the detail from the copper button mounts is beginning to be removed. Some of the metal mounts are loose at the edges. Key is present but lock not functional. There are pieces of detached brass moulding inside the trunk, and the chest lacks internal fittings. Handles are not currently capable of holding the weight of the chest and will need re-securing.
La Phare - a fine 14-carat gold cased minute repeating keyless chronograph pocket watchNumber 74584, made for the Russian market, with triple, day, date calendar, Luna calendar and stopwatch dials to the white enamel Roman dial, the full hunting engine turned case with applied entwined "cut-card" monogram, loop suspension; 149.5 gramsProduced for the wealthy Russian Market this is confirmed by the Cyrillic markings for the markings for the calendar work. The movement is wound solid but the movement will escape with some encouragement, but soon stops, the chiming button seems to have been pushed right in and no longer trips the repeat mechanism but the watch has been chiming, but now does not, and the stopwatch does not appear to activate when the button is pressed,The adjusting levers advance the corresponding functions.The case does not open via the crown button probably due to some corrosion in the catch.The case and loop suspension are of good gauge and only slight softening to the engine turning, the watch case does show a shallow dent around the hinges

The interior is fitted with a small carriage timepiece; six various silver mounted etched glass jars and a scent bottle; two further silver gilt jars, a hairbrush, a pair of clothes brushes, a hand mirror, a silver mounted comb, a shoehorn, two button hooks, a crocodile jewellery box and correspondence wallet. All monogrammed 'AM' (possibly stands for Annie Webber Maxwell, sister of Lady McMillan). London hallmarks, predominantly 1913.Together with newspaper cuttings and associated paperwork revealing the development and aftermath of the death of Sir William Northrup McMillan who died in Nice, in 1925. Including written notes and cablegrams between the family members and his business partner William Bixby. Belonging of Lady Lucie McMillan, wife of Sir William Northrup McMillan in Kenya (then British East Africa) - this is the client's godmother. Lady McMillan, the wife of the British American adventurer and Kenyan settler Sir William Northrup McMillan, kept cheetahs, lions and leopards on her property and used to host dignitaries such as Winston Churchill and Theodore Roosevelt who travelled to Kenya on hunting expeditions. After her husband's death, she commissioned Nairobi's McMillian Memorial Library in his name, also gave the McMillan Nurses' Institute and the Louise Decker Memorial Homes, and was a steadfast supporter of many charitable and other organizations.
