A Very Rare Cased 20-Bore Flintlock Walking-Stick GunBy Joseph Egg, London, Circa 1820With round sighted barrel painted in imitation of bamboo and with detachable brass ferrule with iron button tip, made to lock into an iron sleeve at the breech, the blued sleeve signed along the tapered top flat, engraved with foliage on a punched ground, and decorated with a sportsman shooting at a boar in a landscape accompanied by his two hounds, the barrel and sleeve each with platinum-lined touch-hole, signed border engraved flat lock decorated with a trophy on the tail and with rainproof pan, foliate engraved 'French' cock working on a link to the blued mainspring, the latter also forming the steel-spring with roller, chequered figured rounded butt with blued D-shaped trigger-guard decorated with a martial trophy on the border engraved bow, border engraved steel mount for the figured take-down skeleton butt with sprung lever catch, the top tang engraved with foliage and signed 'J. The white enamel dial has a very fine hairline crack between the one and two numerals but otherwise ok. Light surface scratches and a few small dents throughout. The function button on the side of the watch is not working.For those asking what the diameter of the watch is, this is clearly stated in the description, as is the fact that the watch is not functioning.

The cigarette case is in poor condition, the two oval salts have lost nearly all their gilt lining and general surface wear and tarnishing throughout as does the button hook.

A few marks to the dial with an area of touch up around the central pivot, balance wheel does not really move, all parts are heavily tarnished, the ring loop is an obvious later addition, it is missing the button release to the side of the watch and is heavily tarnished. The Fattorini has a repair to the case, surface dents and scratches throughout, not running. The Chester example is in better order with hairline cracks to the dial, surface scratches, also not running. All three with general surface wear.

A third uniform tin with a plaque inscribed Dr Nathan Raw, containing a New Style velvet Court Dress coatee, with matching waistcoat and knee-breeches; two folding bicorne hats; a pair of black stockings; a pair of white stockings; a pair of court shoes, complete with cut steel buckles; a sword-belt, sword-frog and sword-bag; together with a white lace collar. A 12 BORE GERMAN WHEEL-LOCK SPORTING RIFLE BY HANNS ROHR IN BAYREUTS (SIC), DATED 1661 with octagonal swamped sighted barrel rifled with a series of slender grooves and engraved with a garland around the muzzle face, engraved with scrolling foliage and large expanded flowerheads over the breech and muzzle, the former signed and dated ahead of the back-sight, engraved tang, flat lock retained by two side nails, fitted with external wheel retained by a pierced openwork gilt-brass bracket decorated with a symmetrical arrangement of two sphinxes, fitted with sliding pan-cover with button release, finely engraved dog decorated with two monsterheads, fitted with gilt-brass bridle formed as a cherubic mask, and with an additional gilt-brass dragon, double set trigger, blackened full stock lightly carved behind the rear ramrod pipe, covered over much of its surface with large engraved silver plaques depicting scenes from the chase, including a fox with a bird-of-prey, a hunter and hound in pursuit of a boar on each side of the fore-end, a large prowling bear opposite the lock and a mounted nobleman beneath, the butt applied with further plaques including, on the left, a doe and stag in a woodland landscape on the cheek-piece and, on the right, with patchbox with sliding cover applied with a further silver plaque of a hunter in contemporary dress, pierced iron trigger-guard shaped for the fingers, silver butt-plate engraved with the owner's coat-of-arms and numbered '9', and silver fore-end cap (later ramrod and ramrod-pipe, some silver plaques restored), the cheek-piece applied with an early red wax gewehrkammer seal 83.0 cm; 32 3/4 in barrel Hans Ruehrer is recorded active in Bayreuth, Bayern, circa 1658.

**A COMPOSITE CLOSE HELMET FOR HEAVY FIELD USE, CIRCA 1580 with heavy rounded one-piece skull rising to a high, file-roped medial comb, visor, upper bevor and lower bevor attached to it at each side by common low-domed square pivots (restored), the visor pierced in front of the file-roped step of its centrally-divided vision-slit with five rectangular ventilation-holes at each side, and fitted at the right with a lifting-peg that fits into a shaped notch cut into the upper edge of the prow-shaped upper bevor, the latter pierced at its right side with twelve cross-shaped apertures, the upper and lower bevors secured at the right side by spring-catches with push-button-releases, and the skull and bevor each flanged outwards at their lower edges to receive two gorget-plates, and the lower edge with file-roped turn (plume-holder missing, cleaned bright throughout) 32.0 cm; 12 ½ in high Provenance From an armour formerly in the Whawell collection, sold 19th April 1926. A George III novelty silver jockey cap caddy spoon, by Elizabeth Morley, London 1798, bright-cut decoration, length 4.7cm, approx. weight 0.1oz. Provenance: A Private Collection. Purchased from Julian Pawle Limited, New Bond Street, London 7 February 1991. Condition Report: Marks are good, gauge is a little light, details of the decoration are good, a shallow dent in near the button and the bowl is slightly misshaped, there are some small nicks in the edges and overall fine surface scratches.
A natural pearl ring, the silver pearl set with diamonds to the shoulders in platinum, size P 1/2 Accompanied by report number 04100 dated 10 May 2011 from The Gem & Pearl Lab stating that the button-shaped cream/white to light grey pearl weighs 11.45cts, measures 11.7 - 12.1mm and is natural saltwater. Condition report: Off-round pearl with a few natural blemishes visible in images. Lustre ok but not great. Colour changes from almost white underneath to silver on top (see images). Mount all fine.
