A Pair of 19th Century Constabulary Hangers, each with a slightly curved, fullered, single edge blade, double-edged for the last 20 cm, each brass stirrup hilt with release button and downturned quillon, ribbed fishskin grip, the brass-mounted leather scabbards, numbered respectively, ''No.79'' and ''No.80''No. 79 - Blade reasonably bright with scattered patches of rust, more particularly near tip. Hilt reasonably good. Grip with polish residue. Some cracking to leather scabbard but no breaks. No. 80 - Blade, hilt and grip in similar condition to other. Leather scabbard in slightly better condition but brass shoe holed with sword blade tip protruding approx. 8 mm

Wear to gilt finish on hilt. Otherwise good. Smallsword - Blade with overall old rusting and pitting. Hilt varnished. Repaired (possibly replaced) knucklebow. Replacement grip.
