A Bow globular teapot and cover. With button finial, reeded loop handle having heart shaped terminal and painted in coloured enamels with flowers c1760, 13.5cm (2). Condition Report. To be used as a guide only. Loss to the inner rim of the cover and two short hair cracks. Base with a crack from below the spout to the centre of the base. Some pitting and slight enamel wear.
A World War One / World War Two Era model 1886 French white metal handled Epee Lebel Bayonet with Hook Quillon & Scabbard. This was the Bayonet & Scabbard for the Lebel Rifle. The handle is stamped with regimental mark '3p 71'. The hook quillon is stamped 'M 91553'. It's sprung muzzle ring catch with knurled button works perfectly. It has a white metal handle. The pommel end of the handle is marked '27' and '9', it has a 52 cm 'cruciform' blade. It's steel scabbard with fixed belt bar is in good condition. Quaker Interest: Late 18th Century Ladies Corset or 'Stays', in fine taupe wool lined with glazed cotton, bound edges, strap shoulders, rear lacking (lacks lacing), the central point to the waist has the addition of a coarser wool reinforcement, which has been hand applied leaving it impossible to determine what there might be underneath A marvellous construction in remarkably good condition for age. Some nibbles to the exterior fabric in places. The shoulder straps of a dark brown cotton appear original, they match the brown edge binding in colour and at the back are inserted between the lining and the outer layer. At the front both the strap and the appropriate position on the corset are linked by a cotton braid, which threads through small holes bound by button-hole stitch in the same fashion as the back lacing holes, to tie in the appropriate position.
