Warring States period (475 – 221 BC) This belt hook is identical in design with Lot 23. It has a top section in the form of a dragon attached lower down to a bearded mythical creature with long horns, a curled tail, and powerful limbs terminating in sharp talons. The whole bronze is finely inlaid with silver and gold, in scrolls and geometric designs which differ from the inlay on the other Warring States hook. The underside has a button with a gold and silver inlay design identical to that of Lot 8. It has heavy dark green corrosion. Dimensions: Length 17.5cms, width 6 cms, weight 285 grams

A fine WWII control column spade grip from a Hawker Hurricane, mounted as a display piece with brass firing button, composite grip presented on a laminated wood cross section of a propeller with aluminium aircraft stamped 'Cast from Hurricane P3834 249Sq P/O JRB Meaker Shot Down 27-9-1940' 'DP Carter Mk1', overall height 32cm, together with a related item Provenance: Sotheby's 29 November 1994. Pilot Officer James Reginald Brian Meaker, DFC, Royal Air Force, served with 249 Squadron during the Battle of Britain, he was killed on 27 September 1940 at 15:20hrs. He baled out of his Hurricane I after attacking a Ju88 over Sussex, but he struck the tail-plane of his Hurricane and was killed. (2)

A three seater Chesterfield sofa in olive green button back upholstery, raised on mahogany turned legs to brass caps and castors CONDITION REPORTS Fabric ripped and needs re-upholstering. Various knocks and chips to the legs, one of the back legs is at a slight angle and needs attention. Length of the seat between the arms 149cm, seat approx 46cm deep. General signs of wear and tear throughout. One of the back legs also appears to have some filler in it.
A Swiss rose gold open face quarter repeating musical pocket watch, circa 1810, case number 081, 4880 by F.P., the gilt full plate movement with a 3-arm balance and two polished hammers striking on a gong, the musical movement being a horizontal disc beneath the dial, the gold dial with Roman numerals and blue steel Breguet hands, the engine turned hinged case with a vacant cartouche to the back, milled band, push repeat in the stem, repeat start/stop button set in the band at 11, musical button set in the band at 6, musical lever to activate the tune automatically on the hour, diameter 56 mm, belcher chain to the key,. In 1800 Isaac Daniel Piguet in Geneva produced the first repeating musical watches with a pinned horizontal disc operating radially arranged tuned steel teeth.
