Atkinson of Lancaster double barrel pistol with bayonet Atkinson of Lancaster double barrel 40 bore pistol, the twin octagonal 3.5 inch barrels, engraved with the maker's name and fitted with swivel ramrod and spring bayonet (locking latch damaged) the actions engraved with scrollwork and fitted with finely chequered pistol grip with trap to the base to hold caps.Section 58 (2) antique / obsolete calibre, can be owned without a licence. Buyer must be over the age of 18, ID will be required if the lot is to be posted out.21cm longThe bayonet locking catch lacks the top bar and consequently, the bayonet will not lock fully forward. There should be a push button to the side of the bayonet to unlock the blade when forward, this is also lacking. One of the nipples is a bit squashed from the hammers being dry fired. The wood grip has two well executed repairs to the corners where the wood meets the frame. There is very light pitting to the parts of the gun which were originally colour case hardened, the bores have signs of light surface corrosion. The screwheads have wear to the slots.

Collection of King Edward VIII Coronation Badges and Insignia, being a mixture of button type, gilt metal and medal types. Various constructions and sizes. All generally good condition. King Edward VIII was the eldest son of King George V and originally came to the throne in January 1936, only to be forced to abdicate the throne due to his desire to marry US divorce, Wallace Simpson. His abdication led to the coronation of his brother King George VI and the reign of the current strand of the British Royal Family. Edward VIII became the Duke of Windsor. He was known for his close relations with Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany which resulted in him being classed as a Nazi Sympathiser. During WW2 he was stationed with the British Military Mission in France until its fall to the Germans. He spent the rest of the war as the Governor of the Bahamas. After the war he settled in France with Wallace Simpson, who he married in 1937, he died on 28th May 1972.

Badge is complete with pin fitting on the reverse. Badge remains in very good overall condition. Approx 3,000 BUF members acted as stewards for the Earls Court Rally in 1939. They were all issued with badges, which came in six different colours. Each colour was worn by 500 stewards and it denoted a section of the hall which they were responsible for. Interior with worn shredded lining. Accompanied by a pair of trousers with two yellow stripes to the legs and button ankles. Officers full dress cross belt with hallmarked silver mounts and slings.

Black cloth lining to the interior of the tailcoat. Accompanied by two pairs of dress trousers with thick line of braid lace and also the full dress bicorn headdress with white cloth feather effect top, bullion work and gilt two piece general service button. Set remains in generally good condition overall.
WW2 REME Battle Dress Blouse, good example of a battle dress blouse complete with the original insignia for a Staff Sergeant, WW1 and 1939-45 star medal ribbons to the breast. Concealed button front and pockets. Printed regimental shoulder titles, printed formation sign, arm of service stripe and rank insignia. Interior with worn out label. War department stamp with date letter Q. Some service wear but generally a good example.
Very Unusual WW2 Possible Airborne Related British Maternity Style Tunic Produced for Extreme Cold Weather, produced in a fine khaki cloth with a large collar having press down snaps. The front with a half zip and button fastener. Two large hip pockets and two breast zip slash pockets. Fixed waistbelt. Interior with a very heavy padded lining. Collar with Gieves label with inked name, but this is not clear. Sadly the tunic has some heavy moth damage. Lieutenant-General Sir Frederick Arthur Montague "Boy" Browning, GCVO, KBE, CB, DSO designed a special pattern of Maternity tunic to wear, which is housed in the Airborne Air Assault Museum, it is possible that this tunic was designed to be worn by the Airborne forces or Glider troops in Norway.
British Airborne Forces Denison Smock, good worn example of a half zip front camouflaged smock as issued to the British Airborne forces. Brass press stud button tops and woollen cuffs. Interior with a well worn size label, no clear date. Missing the crutch strap from the reverse. Some wear, fading and field repairs. Good worn example.
Deluxe Pattern Cased 1914 Iron Cross 1st Class, superb example produced in 935 silver with stamping to the reverse of the award. Convex style shape to the award. Good patina to the frame and much of the original finish remains to the centre of the award. Complete with the original pin and catch fixing to the reverse. Housed in a deluxe pattern maroon leather case with mother of pearl style release button and interior of the lid having image of Iron Cross and in gothic script “Zur Erinnerung an Deutschlands grosse Zeit”. Superb example.
1914-15 Star of Second Lieutenant Henry Elliot Byers 3rd Battalion Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry Attached Royal Flying Corps who was Killed in a Flying Accident on 12th November 1916, the medal was awarded to him as a private in the Royal Highlanders Black Watch, “1556 PTE H E BYERS R. HIGHRS”. Complete with its ribbon, RFC tunic button and a folder of photocopied research. Henry Elliot Byers was born in Naas, Co. Kildare Ireland in 1884. His father was serving in the Royal Dublin Fusiliers and his mother a army school teacher at the time of his birth. The census of 1911, shows him serving as a boy clerk to the Inland Revenue. On the outbreak of WW1, both Henry and his brother, enlisted in the 6th Battalion of the Royal Highlanders Black Watch and moved from Ireland to Scotland before going to France on 2nd May 1915. He returned from the front in February 1916, when he gained a officers commission in the 3rd Battalion DCLI, being straight away forwarded for attachment to the Royal Flying Corps. He was placed in the 16th Reserve Squadron of the RFC for training to become a pilot. Henry was killed at the age of 22 on Sunday 12th November 1916 during a training flight. A newspaper report of the incident appeared in the Weekly Irish Times and is as follows: “Sec. Lieut. Henry Elliot (Harry) Byres, killed in aeroplane accident at Bealieu, Hants, on November 12th, 1916, aged 22 years was the second son of Henry Elliot and Frances Byers, 18 Ellesmere avenue, N.C. Road, Dublin. Educated at the Diocesan School, Molesworth street, Dublin. He entered the Civil Service, and was appointed a Second Division Clerk in the Accountants branch of the G.P.O, Dublin. With an older brother he joined the Black Watch (Territorials), and on the outbreak of war left for duty in Scotland. Volunteering for active service they went with their battalion to France in May 1915, the younger brother returning in February 1916 to take up a commission. He was gazetted to the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry on July 7th, 1916, and was attached to the Royal Flying Corps a few weeks later. His elder brother and two younger brothers are at present serving with the Black Watch.” It is reported that Henry’s aircraft was seen nose diving at 3000 feet, and he died instantly from his injuries of the crash, receiving a compound fracture to the skull, broken limbs and internal injuries. His body was moved to Dublin and he was laid to rest at Grangegorman Military Cemetery, Dublin. His brother George Elliot Byers is also commemorated at this cemetery, as he was killed in action at Bapaume, France, on 21st March 1918.
WW2 German Naval (Kriegsmarine) Officers Dress Dagger with Straps and Knot by WKC, Solingen, fine example retaining much of the original gilt wash finish to the eagle pommel, white celluloid grip retaining the wire binding, cross guard with press button. Attached to the grip is an original Kriegsmarine issue golden officers dress portepee (knot). Gilt metal scabbard with two hanging rings. Attached to the scabbard is a pair (large and small type) of dress hangers with gilded fittings. Near mint condition blade with standard etched foliage and fouled anchor. WKC makers trade mark to the bottom of the blade. Overall a very good example.
