The white porcelain base is done with a transfer and then hand colored to enhance the pictorial design, The sterling silver overlay is engraved. The line seen on the back of these cool buttons is a part of the silver overlay and if pilled up you would see the silver on the front is attached to the lines on the back. Very cool. 1 Large size wood bead bordered pierced brass button.There are only a handful of buttons known that were created utilizing this unusual construction. The moveable carved wood beads on the border are attached together by a brass wire going through the beads around the edge o the button and set in a channel.
