ENGLISH CIVIL WAR RELICS . A small framed display of relics collected by a detectorist on the site of the Battle of Worcester which took place in 1651. A late Victorian coromandel travelling vanity case containing various cut glass and silver mounted dressing table bottles, stamped "London 1880" by Jane Brownett and Alexander Jones and stamped "F / S West VR No.1 St. James Street", together with other white metal mounted dressing table jars, a manicure set, button hook, various other accoutrements, a mirror and a further leather backed hand mirror CONDITION REPORTS Size of case approx. 33 x 24 x 20 cm high. Case exterior has various cracks, splits, knocks and scuffs, interior with some general wear and scuffs, and contents with various knocks and dents, tarnish and some damage and losses, lower pull-out drawer section is empty, two of the glass jars are broken and have large areas missing, the other glass jars have some wear, scuffs and various chips, case has a black/ebonised finish, there are no keys.

Three 19th century silver open faced pocket watches, each with white enamel dial and black Roman numerals, the first and second lady’s examples both unsigned, the third gentleman’s watch signed ‘J. Wood, Over Darwent’, cases 40mm, 38mm, and 52mm (3) FIRST WATCH: MOVEMENT: full plate English lever fusee movement no. 76091, with protective dust ring, domed polished three arm steel balance, undersprung, Bosley type regulator, foliate engraved triangular balance cock and ruby endstone. Movement running very nicely at time of cataloguing. With key. CASE: three piece case hallmarked Birmingham 1883 on the inner back cover, pendant button and ring, case maker's mark W.E.1 incuse, foliate engraved over the back and the bezel. Missing crystal, indentation to case back. DIAL: white enamel dial with gold fleur-de-lys hands, crescent shaped hairline crack to enamel between 12 and 1. SECOND LADY'S WATCH: MOVEMENT: Swiss bar cylinder movement with brass three arm oversprung balance. With Key. Movement in need of full overhaul. CASE: no hallmark. Only marked 'SCM no. 23776', and presentation inscribed on inner cover. Cuvette inscribed 'Examined by CHARLES FRODSHAM Clockmaker to the Queen 84 Strand London'. Engine turned engraving and monogram to central cartouche heavily rubbed. Light dents and scratches to glass and case overall. DIAL: light hairline cracks across dial. THIRD WATCH: MOVEMENT: full plate English lever fusee movement, undersprung three armed balance, Bosley type regulator, top plate signed J. Wood Over Darwent no. 22702. Fusee chain snapped. Movement already under gone numerous repairs and in need of full overhaul. CASE: three piece case hallmarked Chester 1873 on inner back cover and central cover, the latter also engraved (poorly) with owners name, dented. Case tarnished and crystal sratched. Hinge loose. DIAL: signed. Repair by cannon pinion, chipped between raised chapter ring and sub seconds dial. Both minute and hour hand mishapen.
A 1960s Heuer 1/100th second stop watch retailed by DEMBO Bristol, the white dial with 1/100th second outer dial and red inner minute dial, and jumping hours aperture at 6 o’clock, two button, the 7 jewel unadjusted movement cal. Valjoux 7714, the case 52mm diameter, together with a 1940s Heuer chrome plated stop watch, 1/5th seconds and 15 minute register, the case 50mm (2) MOVEMENTS: first functioning at time of cataloguing, second not functioning. CASES: First, nick to the bezel and dent to the case back edge, grubby but sturdy, glass good. Second watch, glass yellowed, otherwise good. DIALS: overall pitting/foxing on first, second without issue
A rare Omega silver open faced chronograph pocket watch, the three piece case with white enamel dial with outer 1/5 seconds tachometer track, black Roman numerals, gold spade hands, subsidiary seconds dial and semi instantaneous 15 minute register, keyless winding with stop/start reset push piece within the pendant button, the lever movement signed Omega no. 4364436, the case import marked London 1913, 38mm MOVEMENT: three quarter plate frosted gilt straight line lever escapement, bimetallic split balance, Breguet overcoil balance spring, and visible chronograph work on the top plate, movement and chronograph function working nicely at time of cataloguing CASE: hallmarked on inner front cover, cuvette, and pendant ring. Inner front cover also marked with sponsors mark SA in diamond cartouche. Light surface scratches to the case, some tarnish and dirt to the inner bezel DIAL: VG, no apparent damage. A little tarnishing to the hands.
