A Geo VI officer`s broadsword of The King`s Own Scottish Borderers, claymore blade 33", by Wilkinson no 67607 (for 1939), etched with crowned Geo VI cypher and regimental badge within thistle panels, and owner`s initials "AJR", regulation plated basket hilt with 4 bars and 5 pierced heart panels, fluted pommel, wirebound fishskin grip, red cloth and buff leather liner with some blue edging, crimson tassels, in its plated scabbard with 2 rings and ball chape button (minor plating wear). GC retaining much original finish overall. Plate 8
A Vic officer`s broadsword of The Black Watch, claymore blade 33", by Wilkinson, no 26966 (for 1885), etched crowned VR cypher, "The Black Watch Royal Highlanders" within thistle panels, and owner`s crest, motto scroll "Justitia" and "JGR" regulation steel basket hilt with 4 bars and 5 pierced heart panels, fluted pommel wirebound fishskin grip, red cloth and buff leather liner and crimson tassels, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings, WM throat and ball chape button (worn). GC Plate 8 Note: The sword of Capt John George Rennie, Lt Black Watch, 1886, Capt 1893, served in Sudan (MID), and throughout the Boer War (MID, Queen`s medal, 5 clasps and King`s medal, 2 clasps,), was awarded the DSO in 1901 "In recognition of services during operations in South Africa".
