A VICTORIAN WALNUT DAVENPORT DESK having a concealed bank of four drawers to the side and with elevated pull-out tooled-leather desk and having a brass galleried top, 56cms wide Additional information / condition report: in excellent order, some fading but no notable damage except chips to fretwork on pop-up bureau (see additional images). The Davenport has a button inside the right drawer cavity which releases a secret bureau which pops up (please see images). We have searched for a maker’s label and stamp but there does not appear to be one present. Estimate revision £400-800

AN EARLY STEIFF PALE GOLD MOHAIR TEDDY BEAR circa 1910, with boot button eyes and the remains of a horizontally stitched nose, the left ear now lacking the original button, on a jointed body with buff felt pads (now covered with tan cloth), stitched claw detail, and wood-wool stuffing, 29.5cm high. Note: Believed to have been given to its original owner at her birth, on 6th March 1908. A copy of a photograph of this young girl at the age of around two, holding the bear, accompanies the lot.
