A Early British Military Tricorne Hat of Late 18th Century Style, very interesting untouched black felt tricorn pattern hat with gold wire braid to the edges. The interior with a cloth lining which has remains of a Sheffield paper label. To the underside rear of the headdress is a relic small Georgian crowned button. The headdress shows considerable age and wear, with some areas of damage to the felt.
Victorian British Major Generals Mess Dress Tunic, fine example of a scarlet short pattern mess jacket with fine brocade to the centre and around the waist, shoulder straps with brocade and General officers button, shoulder straps having bullion crossed sword and baton with star above. To the breast are medal ribbons for Victorian campaign service including the Indian Mutiny. Accompanied by the interior waistcoat. Set remains in generally good condition for its age.
