Each numbered 6898 and 'Left' and 'Right' in tin travelling box. 20.5 x 13cm. And another pair of eppaluettes, woven design with a decorated Crown for the rank of Major. According to the family these were the property of Colonel Henry William Vavasour (1783-1851). Whilst with the Royal Engineers he was posted to Gibraltar where he was present at the siege of Cadiz and defence of Tarifa. Copied bibliographic notes included with the lot. *CR Light moth damage to the felt. Otherwise good condition. Tin container with distressed surface.
