The date hand disappears seamlessly behind the hour ring. There is a particularly clever horological feature to this watch, which has been created exclusively by Hermès. The movement continues uninterrupted with the running time and the suspended time phases controlled by two column wheels working in tandem with each other. The 360° retrograde feature allows time to disappear without disrupting the movement. When the wearer decides to restart the watch it automatically moves forward to display the correct time. This particular function was designed by a group of movement experts at Hermès under the direction of Jean-Marc Wiederrecht, founder of Agenhor, which specializes in conception of complex watch mechanisms.
