A pair of 1940s industrial rolled stainless steel bankers desk machinist lamp by 'Allen' & 'RS'. Fluorescent bench light lamp - stock No. 549-583 by RS, bench mounted. The other by 'P.W. Allen' visual inspection engineers, Liverpool Rd, London, N1, having a circular cast iron weighted base with large chromed toggle button switch to front, both having an adjustable arm with wide shade to top. Largest measures 103cm (fully extended).
Collection of late 19th/early 20th Century clothing to include: broderie anglaise cotton bedgown, a child's embroidered dress with matching miniature drawstring bag and baby's bonnet, together with two vintage nightdresses; Muraline nightdress with lace panels and a silk negligee with lace butterfly insert. (4) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Nightgown/bedgown - minor wear especially to button. Child's dress - stained, alteration/damage to top of dress/shoulders which are unattached. Bonnet fabric yellowed but no obvious damage. Muraline nightdress has no obvious damage. other nightdress - replacement straps - one torn, otherwise good for age.
Three vintage 1940's/50's dresses; one slubbed silk with faux pearl buttons and two woollen; one check pattern with 'Nuwear' label and belt. (3) (B.P. 21% + VAT) Silk dress is missing the top button, small hole to the back near the collar, some small stains to the front. Check dress has no obvious damage. Other dress has hole to the back of the skirt, missing top button, the cuffs are a bit frayed.
A group of long dresses circa 1950s/1960s, comprising Peter Robinson London pink/blue brocade dress with stiffened underskirt, a coral taffeta dress with puffed sleeves and waist bow trim (no label), and a lace wedding dress, fully lined in taffeta with mandarin collar, button front and cuffs, dropped waistline and full skirt . This would seem to be a coppered finish- in other words a coppery finish on base metals - not pure copper. Remnants of fringe to the shade- base with staining and edge wear, hole to one leg probably formerly for on/off button switch.
