Pamela was born in Malacca but spent the majority of her life in Singapore. She worked as the personal assistant to the last two colonial Governors of Singapore, Sir Robert Black and Sir William Goode. Pamela and her husband were both founding members of the Southeast Asian Ceramic Society, in Singapore in 1969. Pamela also serving as the Society’s president from 1996 to 1998. The couple were avid collectors of Oriental ceramics and together they formed one of the finest collections of Dehua blanc de chine ceramics in the world, the collection now in the Asian Civilizations Museum, Singapore.
