Imogen Margrie (British, b. 1962), "Wiggle It", stoneware. 41cm by 25cm by 30cm. Note: having studied at the Central School of Art in London, Margrie taught at Westminster University before moving to Antigua with her husband to set up her own ceramics studio. A hand-decorated Musterschutz (German) porcelain half-litre tankard; modelled as a seated monkey holding a stein (damage), the interior of the tankard marked with 0.5 L level, pewter-mounted cover, printed and painted blue-cross mark to underside (18.5cm high)Condition Report: Being super critical, there is 'some' paint rubbing to the extremities of the porcelain, nothing dramatic in the Auctioneer's opinion; handle appears good; mounts appear OK; the face and head is noted to be well modelled with individual teeth visible to the upper mandible; upon opening the hinged pewter-mounted top there is an old solder repair to the end of the shaped thumbpiece where is affixes to the circular lid; there are a couple of small blemishes around the inside of rim; the only problem in the Auctioneer's opinion is that the monkey is holding a similar ceramic and lidded tankard in his right hand and the lid is broken away.
