† VICKY WALTON; a tin glazed earthenware bowl with polychrome decoration, painted VW mark, diameter 20cm, and a large bowl covered in pale yellow glaze with iron decoration by a different maker, diameter 38.5cm (2).Walton worked for many years under the tuition of Quentin Bell at Fulham Pottery and became the first curator at Charleston House in the early 1980s. Much of her ceramic work is in the Charleston collection. Condition Report: Large bowl has several rim and body chips and stilt marks/glaze misses to the well, otherwise appears good with no further signs of faults, damage or restorations.

KIMURA ICHIRO (1915-1978); a rectangular stoneware Mashiko Henko-Jar with juxtaposed square sections to each face covered in kaki glaze with copper green branch decoration, impressed mark, height 23cm, width 18cm, with signed box.Kimura Ichiro studied with Shoji Hamada from 1935 before establishing his own kiln in 1947. The Mashiko Ceramic Art Museum held a retrospective of his work in 1998. Although not widely known in the West, he is considered one of the master potters of the Mashiko region. Condition Report: Appears good with no obvious signs of faults, damage or restoration.
