These works reflected the contemporary culture, power, and gender dynamics. She was closely aligned with the Bay Area Funk movement, and considered herself a bricoleur - a junk accumulator - by reinterpreting collectible figurines as well as philosophical ideas, her personal experiences, and color theory to freely create new meanings in ceramic and bronze works.
