Two Clarice Cliff Bizarre ''Crayon Scenes'' Plates, decorated with tree landscapes, printed and impressed marks, 23cm Produced using ceramic crayons. A set of at least twelve sketched landscapes drawn in freehand in natural colours, featuring very English scenes with churches, trees and bridges, some were named. All examples decorated by paintress Rene Dale Not modern. Impressed 7/35 and printed factory mark, and 4/35 and printed factory mark. Both have some firing blemishes - dust. One has a surface scratch on the reverse. The other a very faint line/crazing on the reverse centre. 160315

CONDITION REPORT: The hound with head facing right, the bead work cushion some red beads missing beneath the hound, very minor damage to the right of the hounds right leg, rope work border good condition, slightly loose to the left of the hound, wooden surround in good condition, black treacle glaze feet good condition, the hound facing left, bead work missing beneath the hounds chin, some centre of the body, some on the left extremity and some below the hounds feet, the green and black beads, rope work minor fray on right hand corner, wooden frame very minor chip beneath the right hand moulding, original feet.
