The circular stand having carved segments to house eight pipes centred by a tobacco jar and cover, the cover bears a silver plaque to Captain W.S Hannan from Melbourne Harbor Pilots May 1929 together with a smokers wall mounted stand comprising of a ceramic tobacco jar and cover and two cherry wood pipes approx 37 w x 14 h cms and a match holder modelled as monk. Polychrome finish is variously distressed. There is a small split to the corner of the book which he reads. Some possible small losses to his face and elsewhere but doesn't appear to be any severe damages. We assume this is of German origin
