A SMALL KOREAN CELADON GLAZED OIL BOTTLE OR JAR, 12TH-13TH CENTURY Of compressed circular form with an everted rim, the body decorated with curling leafy foliage, a paper label for Bluett & Sons, London, raised on a hardwood stand, 7.5cm across. (2) Provenance: the collection of Mr and Mrs Basil Drewe, and thence by descent. Cf. SIX KOREAN CELADON GLAZED ITEMS, KORYO DYNASTY AND LATER Comprising a melon-shaped ewer with incised lotus designs, three dishes, all moulded with foliate designs, an ovoid vessel decorated in slip with pairs of cranes amongst clouds, and a cup stand with faint incised leaf designs, the latter with a paper label for item no.26 in the Oriental Ceramic Society Exhibition of 1952, 22cm max. (6) Provenance: from the collection of John Newall Esq. The cup stand formerly in the collection of Sir Harry and Lady Garner.
