A 14 ct gold Continental fob watch, with foliate engraved case, ceramic dial with Roman numerals, key wind. Diameter 31 mm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The watch appears to have had very little wear. There is a very minor scratch to the glass, the case is in superb condition and the watch is ticking.
A large Doulton Lambeth stoneware artware vase, probably by Eliza Simmance, impressed factory mark and '1880', incised 'ES 801', of broad baluster form, the exterior with leaf shaped panels with butterflies on prunus foliage, within overall stylised floral and foliate decoration, 11½in. (29.25cm.) high, with ceramic Oriental style stand. (2) * Condition: Good condition, with no chips, cracks or restoration.
A Victorian mahogany watercolour artists box, made by J.Newman, circa 1870s, rectangular mahogany box, hinged lid lifting to reveal the underside bears a green paper pastedown, decorated with a gilt diamond form name motif reading 'Newman, Soho Square 24 London' within a thick set circular band with centralised Prince of Wales feathers and heraldic motifs to corners, two royal ciphers to upper corners of pastedown, interior of lower section containing a lift out section to the rear containing sixteen different colour paint blocks embossed with the Newman and co name to front and Prince of Wales feathers to verso, when lifted a compartment is revealed to house six white ceramic circular palette plates, central section with three compartments, the left housing a tin box containing pastels, a liftable centralised section with white ceramic three division mixing palette and to the right a cut glass water bowl, front section is an open deposit containing pens, brushes etc, shallow pin release drawer to lower front, 10½w x 8¼d x 3¼h in. (26.7 x 21 x 8.3cm.), together with a second example shallow rectangular form in mahogany hinged lid with paste-down label to interior reading 'C.E. Clifford, Artists Colourman 30, Piccadilly London' vacant interior above single drawer with brass recessed handle, 9w x 7d x 3h in. (22.8 x 17.7 x 7.6cm.). (2)
A child's pine watercolour paintbox, early 20th century, pine box of shallow rectangular form, the lid lifting to reveal a colourful pastedown pictorial of children at a riverside feeding fish, one of the children with fishing rod over his shoulder and bucket in hand, interior with divisional section for the housing of twenty paint blocks, 13 intact paint blocks to be included, compartment to front housing chalk, wax, charcoal and several ceramic mixing plates, 9¼w x 6¼d x 1½h. (23.5 x 15.8 x 3.7cm.), together with a Victorian mahogany artists/writers box, rectangular form hinged lid lifting to reveal a vacant compartmentalised lift out section, four empty chambers to right hand side, 8¼w x 6½d x 3h in. (21 x 16.5 x 7.6cm.).
A Kangxi period Chinese blue and white ceramic saucer dish, six character Kangxi mark (1662-1722) and of the period, decorated with central pictorial of finely painted dragons chasing flaming pearls, the slightly everted rim with wave and crayfish border, the exterior with four alternating single and double flowering plants, on shallow circular foot, 8in. (20.3cm.) diameter. ** Condition: Star of glaze cracks to centre of base. These are not visible from the exterior - purely in the glaze. Some pinhead air bubbles to glaze to underside (including a line of bubbles to outside of base) which have some brown discoluration to the surrounding glaze. There is also a small patch of this discoluration around one of the glaze cracks. One tiny pinhead glaze frit beneath rim. A few light scratches to glaze in well.
