A pair of 19th century ceramic plates, transfer printed with scenes of a stately home surrounded by script "In commemoration of the Viscount Clive, attaining his majority, November 5th 1839", both by J. Clementson, Shelton, each approx. 27.2cm diameter. One with restoration, both with scratches, signs of usage, wear and slight stains.
A collection of ceramics and glass to include; a Wedgwood black basalt set of six small stylised punch beakers/cups, all of circular form with curved bodies leading to bases, each marked to bases and numbered 67, along with an unmarked large circular punch bowl and cover (possibly Wedgwood), of stylish shape with funnel handle to top of cover, air hole to top, all in the style of Keith Murray. Each beaker approx. 7cm high x 7cm wide. Large punch bowl approx. 17cm high x 27.4cm wide. Further details: generally all in good condition, general wear, slight scratches and marks; a small collection of 19th century cups and saucers, various patterns and factories, one marble effect (most with staining, crazing, some cracked, hairlines etc); a Modern Eastern brown ceramic electric kettle, removable base and with cable, also with original modern box. Kettle approx. 24cm high. Untested, in good condition; and a mixed collection of early 20th Century glass wares to include cut glass decanter, rummer tumbler glasses, Italian coffee can with saucer, twist pepper pot, Christmas sweet book pot, table salt, napkin ring and a continental vase together with a collection of late 19th Century/early 20th Century moulded glass wares to include fruit bowls, cordial/lemonade jugs and fruit/pot puri basket. Alan Boyson - A set of fourteen architectural ceramic tiles of rectangular form, relief decorated to each with a variant of an abstract block and line motif in white glaze over a black manganese glaze ground, each highlighted with a panel of high glaze colour with a crackle finish, each tile 11cm x 23cm, unsigned. NB - These unique mid Century ceramic tiles were designed and made for Architect Alan Richards in November 1965 for his home in Wolverhampton at a cost of £42.00 for thirty. He commissioned sculptor Alan Boyson (1930-2018) to make them having met him at Wolverhampton School of Art.
