A 19th century French gilt-metal three-piece clock garniture with hand-decorated Sèvres-style porcelain panels, columns and urns. The eight-day clock surmounted by a classical-style urn with two winged cherubic figures and floral-style garlands; a neo-classical style pierced ribbon surmounts the porcelain dial with Roman numerals and below is a hand-decorated vignette of a young girl seated by a pond; two ceramic columns flanking. The gilded movement signed Japy Freres & Cie, striking on a gong and with pendulum and keys etc. The gilt-metal mounted garniture urns similarly hand-decorated with vignettes in the late-18th century style. Both the clock and urn-garnitures raised upon a turned-oak stand with dome-topped glass. The clock, 43cm high (48cm with dome)
A pair of late 19th century Portuguese ceramic wall hanging reliefs in the style of Bernard Palissy; each encrusted with fruits of the sea to include sand eels, sea urchins, fish, mussels etc.; impressed marks to undersides, each approx. 20cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: The plate without the lot number ticket appears to be in good general overall condition with a small glaze chip to the rear of the tail of the eel. Some of the glazing exhibits minor crazing and there appears to be a small match head sized piece of glazing away from the mouth of the eel but looks in reasonable general overall condition. There is also a match head sized chip to the edge of the plate where the glazing has come away. The underside of this plate looks in reasonable order. The plate with the Lot number hanging from it is in general good overall original condition with no major problems noted. Good general overall order and condition. Both of the plates have an impressed mark to undersides. Some small areas of the seaweed of the plate with the lot number are away and looks like one possible double match head sized piece away from the seaweed which in our opinion could be rectified easily.
