A Dunhill wooden cigar cabinet/humidor, 14 cm x 25 cm x 22 cm, together with three Bolivar Habana cigars in aluminum tubes, two Don Ramos Honduras cigars and three H. Upmann 'Naturals' cigars, also tubed, a further Upmann cigar in card box, a Hermes ceramic desk ashtray, 18.5 cm wide, and a 19th century Doulton Lambeth stoneware match pot, with applied floral decoration and silver collar. The finish of the box top is intact but has a finely crazed surface, and may need reviving. The box is in good structural order, complete with a working key, the surface finish has some minor blemishes. The ashtray and table vester are in good order.

Along the underside, there is an area approximately 1 inch in diameter of hardened clay, partially obscuring the stamp; due to the nature of profuse applied ceramic decorations throughout the vase, this is possibly original to the artistic process. Grueby Faience Company, Boston, Massachusetts. Group of 16 American Arts and Crafts enameled green ceramic pottery tiles, late 19th century. Several tiles stamped "Grueby Tile" and "Boston" along the underside.(Tiles, each) height: 6 in x width: 6 in x depth: 3/4 in.Condition: General wear throughout consistent with age and use including some chips, scuffs, and some small losses along corners and high points. Many of the tiles are with cement affixed to the underside, consistent with their purpose as building materials, possibly obscuring further marks.

Continental ceramic blue and grey jardiniere pedestal, possibly German, in the style of Westerwald pottery, ca. late 19th to early 20th century. Stoneware with salt glaze and cobalt wash decoration.The jardiniere features two applied handles and designs in relief of male figures and geometric motifs along its exterior. It rests on a stepped circular socle that is surmounted atop a columnar pedestal adorned with foliate motifs. The piece boasts an elegant, fluted column and a captivating blue, grey, and richly textured finish. Subtle variations in hue highlight the artisanal craftsmanship, while the intricate details of both the jardiniere and pedestal evoke a sense of historical grandeur.Total, height: 43 1/2 in x diameter: 19 in.Condition: There are no major restorations to the pedestal. There are many small to medium-sized losses and large chips along the high points of the applied leaf and pinecone forms throughout the pedestal. There is a chip along the upper rim of the base as well a small patch of adhesive residue; these are only visible when the bowl or vase of the pedestal is lifted to reveal them. Wear along the underside. Dust and debris gathered along the interior.

Tatsuzo Shimaoka (Japanese, 1919-2007). Group of six studio ceramic large dinner plates, 20th century. Stoneware of an iron-saturate, Mashiko clay body. With an ash celadon or iron-free granite glaze and white slip over a textured, rope-pressed inlay surface. The center is glazed with Mashiko Stone, an igneous sandstone glaze sourced locally.Each, diameter: 9 1/2 in.Condition: There are no major visible cracks or restorations. Several of the plates have a minute firing flaw along the outer edge of the center of the plate. One of the plates has a slight discoloration along the center of the plate, likely original to the artistic process and caused by being positioned along a cooler side of the kiln during the firing process. Light scratches along the centers of the plates, consistent with age and use. Light wear to the footrims.

Warren MacKenzie (American, 1924-2018). Group of two studio ceramic pottery vessels. Glazed stoneware including one tripod lidded vessel and one cup. Each marked along the footrim.Warren MacKenzie was a renowned Minnesota studio potter. A student of Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, he is credited with bringing the functional Mingei tradition to the United States, and spreading it through his own art and mentorship of students during his long tenure at the University of Minnesota.(Lidded vessel) height: 7 1/4 in x diameter: 6 in. (Cup) height: 5 in x diameter: 5 1/2 in.Condition: There are no major losses. There is a small chip on the outer rim of the lidded jar (left), a 1/4 inch in length. The jar also has 2 hairline cracks that have been glazed over in the firing, but do not carry through to the inside of the vessel. There is no visible cracks, chips, or losses, to the footed bowl (right). There are several small pen/pencil marks inside the footed vessel. There is wear as expected from age and use.

Neoclassical Greek ceramic attic kylix or wine dish, ca. late 19th to early 20th century. There is a medallion along the interior of the bowl depicting a warrior fiercely wielding a shield, while the exterior walls depict elegantly dressed figures receiving gifts. The vessel is of a historical form, featuring a wide and deep bowl surmounted atop a flared or footed pedestal base, adorned by two looped handles on either side of the basin. Incised along the underside "itum turnce venel apelinas tinas cliniiaras," possibly a dedicatory inscription in Etruscan script addressed to the sons of Zeus (the Dioskouroi).Height: 9 in x width: 26 in x depth: 21 3/4 in.Condition: There are losses along the rim of the vessel and cracks throughout, as expected with age and use. There are several repaired breaks along the right half of the bowl. Some discoloration throughout and flaking to the glaze along the lower center of the vessel's interior. Wear along the foorim.

Late 18th CenturyLooking slightly down to her right, wearing swirling classical robes, on square shaped fixed plinth.Height 51inches (129.5 cm)Clifton Little Venice, Garden Statuary, Architectural and Decorative Furnishings, Christie's London, June 9, 1994, lot 93. A Vestal goddess of the hearth, modeled by the sculptor John Bacon R.A. (D.1799) who was granted a Royal Appointment to the King George III in 1769, is first noted in the 1770's when it was exhibited by Eleanor Coade at the Society of Artists Exhition and continued to be manufactured at the Lambeth Works untill the 1820s. The model was attributed to Bacon in the catalogue of Coade's Gallery, 1799 (see A. Kelly, Mrs Coade stone. worcs. 1990, p.130 fig. 4). The Vestal featured in a wall-niche at Beaumont Lodge, Windsor in the early 1790s, and was also supplied to Earl Fitzwilliam at Wentworth House, Yorkshire, in 1814.Much mystery surrounds the life of Eleanor Coade and her decision to venture into the business of artificial stone manufacturing. Her famous Coade Factory was based in Lambeth, London, which is now part of the area occupied by the Southbank Centre. Throughout its history spanning from 1769-1840, the factory produced a vast array of products such as architectural and garden ornaments, decorative details, statues and monuments. ‘Coade stone’ as it is known was of exceptional quality, and was the only kind of artificial stone at the time to be resilient to frost and other forms of harsh outdoor exposure. The high standards of design and quality upheld by Coade were noticed by London’s most highly regarded architects including Robert Adam, James Wyatt, John Nash and Sir John Soane, each of whom commissioned works.Coade’s most prestigious work was at Buckingham Palace which was rebuilt by Nash in 1825.The artificial stone produced by the Coade Factory was unique in that it was a ceramic material containing a large proportion of ground pre-fired stoneware with a glass stabilizer added to it, which was rolled into sheets and pressed into reusable molds. Because most works were cast in sections before firing, they could easily be altered to suit the client’s individual wishes.The base with damage and cracks and chips to rim, overall with minor scratches and dents commensurate with age, further on with dust allover which could benefit from cleaning.
